When Nanami hosts a party expressly for the purpose of showing off a piece of jewelry that she has acquired, her hopes of impressing everyone are dashed when Juri shows up wearing a valuable necklace created by a designer she was modelling for. When a strange box arrives at the party, Juri and Miki at once recognize the crest of the designer, Sebastian Dior. Nanami at once opens the package, telling everyone that the reason she threw the party was to unveil the gem of her collection. Opening the box, she nearly blinds the crowd and when everyone can again focus, she is seen to be wearing a large cowbell.

on a regular basis, not only for posing, flower arranging, track, and even outside of her uniform, Utena decides to confront her. Her three admirers try to stop her from telling Nanami where a cowbell belongs, but she pushes them out of the way when the grab

her and clamp her mouth shut. When she tells Nanami how stupid she looks, Nanami calls her a dyke, nearly earning a punch in the face. But when she begins wearing a hair ornament that looks a set of horns, like falling asleep in class, demanding that Mitsuru continually get her food and even disappearing one night, he rushes to Utena and Anthy's dorm to ask for help

finding her.When they come accross Nanami in a field, eating grass, Utena tries to convince her to take the cowbell off. Nanami refuses, and Anthy hands Utena a red sweater. Suddenly, Nanami sees red and turns into a cow, charging at Utena. Utena tries to run out of the way and parries nicely, avoiding her horns.

Realizing she will have to treat this like a bullfight, Utena waves the sweater like a cape, drawing Nanami nearer as Mitsuru hands her a pitchfork from the sidelines. Getting a clear shot, she uses it to tear the cowbell from Nanami-koushi's neck. Nanami collapses, human again, and they take the cowbell away.

Later, it is

discovered that the package was delivered to the wrong Nanami, the other being a cow that Anthy owns. She had ordered it from a late-night infomercial and it somehow got mixed up in shipping.
