Fulfillment In Heaven |
The beautiful
window left of the Ecumenical window portrays Heaven, or
fulfillment in eternity. The infinite happiness of Heaven
cannot be portrayed in material symbols, so the window
must necessarily be wholly inadequate. Christianity teaches that we are lifted by Grace to a participation in the Being of God and that we are destined for God's own happiness, the Beatification Vision of God. The window in its deep blue and purple colors portrays fulfillment, but the very center would indicate that this fulfillment is in the possession of the inner Life of God, the Most Holy Trinity. Perfection of all things is in Heaven. There are no sorrows, partings, sufferings nor tears. The Cross of Christ, symbol of His suffering, is glorified. The infinite God looks down upon the happiness of Heaven. His Love is now satisfied because even with His infinite power, He cannot give more than the direct possession of the beauty and love of His own Being. |
