Stamford's Senior teams are made up of players from all over Ireland as well as from the USA. Traditionally the largest proportion of players have come from the Counties of Cavan and Galway, however that is changing with new club members coming from all corners of Ireland - from Co. Leitrim to Co. Wexford. Most Senior Club's in the New York Championship rely somewhat on weekend and 60-day sanctioned players and Stamford is no different. We are lucky enough to build up friendships with these players and each year the familar faces from Ireland return to play with our team.

The Club competes in the New York Championship each year at both Junior and Senior level. We have won at almost every level in New York - the one remaining outside our grasp being the coveted Senior 'A' title. The year 2000 was again a very successful one for the Club at both senior and junior level. Although we didn't win either division outright our teams did us proud on every outing.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our home based players, our weekend and 60-day sanctioned players for their dedication and committment to our Club. We would also like to thank the managers - Donnacha O' Dwyer and Danny Fay - and their selectors for the time and efort they put into the Championship throughout the year. And not forgetting the hard working Officers and Delegates of the Club. We complement you again on a successful year and thank you for the entertaining nights out you provided - especially the 'head-shaving'!!
