Stamford successfully gained another 2 points in the Junior Championship by beating Monaghan in what was a very tough and thrilling game of football.

Stamford Juniors played their fourth game on Sunday at the Fairfield Irish Festival in Connecticut. They had a comfortable victory over Westmeath and are on tracks for the Jnuior title this year. Stamford were without Danny Fay, Eamon Fay, Brian Martin and David Williams.
On the day the team were: Paddy Coyle, Enda Cox, Fergal O"Hanlon, Paul Rafter, Brian McKenna, Tom McDonagh, Jason Williams, Brendan Brady, Terry McDermott, Terry McCann, Tommy Williams, Eric McDonald, Kieran Walpole, Kevin McQuillan and Cyril Carroll.

The first half was not impressive and Stamford trailed at half time by 2 points. The score was Stamford 0-4 and Kerry 1-3. After the break following some good work by Brendan Brady operating at midfield and Eric McDonald at wing half forward, the score was reduced to one point. After the kickout and a foul on T. McCann, Eric McDonald drew the sides level. Stamford landed in the drivers seat and took complete control over the game with Jason Williams, Fergal Heaney, Enda Cox and Paul Rafter fulfilling their positions in defense. A great goal by Cyrill Carroll midway through the second half sealed it for Stamford.
