Starlights: "Who are They" |
Well, if you have no clue what Sailor Moon is about then you'd obviously have no idea who the starlights are. Basically, they appear in the last season of Moon. They are from another planet that was destroyed. Their mission if they choose to accept it) was/is to find their princess. They have many close encounters as Sailor Soldiers, but the most interesting part is their relationship with Usagi (for those who have never seen it, Serina). I find the relationships between each of the starlights to be a very unique and most of my pages involve this). However, I do want to point one thing out. I feel that every single character is a stereotype or an expression of today's times. In relation to my website I'm speaking about the five Characters- Seiya/Star Fighter, Yaten/Star Healer, Taiki/Star Maker, Eternal Sailor Moon, and Mamoru/Tuxedo Mask. Usagi- Well, as stated frequently in the movie, she is a crybaby. Much like an obnoxious child. However, she represents the "light of hope" as it was put in the movie. She's the unsure while loving part in all of us... and an unlikely hero! Mamoru- Can we say "knight in shining armor?" He's "What a girl wants"…. handsome a prince, sweet, kind mysterious. He's a valiant character, not to mention loyal and loving. He is the epitome of perfection and a beaker of light in darkness. Seiya- Of the 3 lights Seiya is the most intriguing to me. He immediately noticed Usagi , and soon love followed. Throughout these events he shows himself to be somewhat conceited, but never the less sweet and caring. He is extremely protective, and competitive. He "doesn't like loosing". Yet, he had enough love and respect to let go the thing he loved most. Any guy that can tell a girl it's ok that he's in a one sided love then kiss a her tears off has got my heartstrings pulled. Taiki- Of the starlights, he is the most intelligent and cultured of them. He is also a doppelganger to Ami. He is the one who also has the least amount of certainty...as he expressed he had the most "doubt". I also found him to be self-conflicting at times. He went from a friend to Usagi to hate and back again. True, it was mostly due to their struggle with their princess, but that fends no excuse for trifling. Yaten- He reminded me of Makoto/Jupiter as much as Taiki reminded me of Ami/Mercury. He is the most loyal to the cause of the group. However he is the smallest in stature. I found him to be the most shady and almost nasty of the group... and the most forgivable. Not to mention, I felt him to be the medium between Taiki and Seiya. He expressed his doubts and feelings quickly, often without thinking, and reacted the same way. |
