At the
beginning of the movie, Darna (Judy Ann Santos)
dies fighting her greatest enemy to date, a humanoid snake
monster creation of her arch-nemesis, the snake-haired Valentina
(Princess Punzalan).
Three years later, Darna's
or rather Narda's brother, Ding (Marvin
Agustin), who is now in his late teens, comes across with
news that Darna was sighted apprehending bank robbers. At
first, this came as no big news to Ding who thought that
the magic stone, the secret behind Darna's powers, has
found a new owner after it mysteriously disappeared
following his sister's death.
However, a disturbing turn
of events happen when a night time surveillance camera
caught Darna stealing in a jewelry store. This
prompted Ding to investigate the true identity of the
new Darna.
In the process, he meets
the 64th generation of the swords master-hero Panday
(Cesar Montano) in a brawl at a billiards game. But
when Ding solicits the new Panday, Eric, for help,
the reluctant superhero had other things in his
mind. Unlike the other Keepers of the Sword
before him, the out-of-school teenager Eric never wanted the job.
And so the story goes...
We won't give away the
ending that easily or there won't be a movie to look
forward to.
Aside from the new Panday,
other Filipino superheroes will also make a cameo
appearance. And one point of the movie, six Darnas
will meet face to face. But in the end, there could
only be one ...right? That's for you to find out.
Of course, what is a Darna
movie without an archrival? So who could that be?
