Steve has been busy this month with appearances and testing. On January 8th he had two appearances in Massachusetts, including the 2000 AutoZone World of Wheels in Boston. The following week he participated in the Goodyear Tire test at Atlanta Motor Speedway. (see below)
On Saturday January 15th Steve started the day with an appearance at the T. Wayne Robertson NASCAR Winston Cup Preview in Winston-Salem, NC. He flew from there to Fort Washington, PA for the Pennzoil Motorsports Show 2000. The following Monday he joined other GM Winston Cup drivers for the mandatory GM test session at Daytona International Speedway. Read more about his activities below.
Pennzoil Motorsports Show 2000
For the 3rd consecutive year, Steve returned to the Pennzoil Motorsports Auto Racing Trade Show in Ft. Washington, PA. The 2000 event was held from January 14 - 16 at the Fort Washington Expo Center. Other headliners included Steve's DEI teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr., the legendary A. J. Foyt, and Pennzoil's IRL driver Scott Goodyear. Steve signed autographs on Saturday, January 15th alongside Dale Jr. and former crew chief (Modified tour) Tommy Baldwin Jr. Watch for pictures to arrive any day!

Atlanta Testing
Atlanta Motor Speedway's 2000 racing season officially started on Jan. 10th at 1:22 p.m. when Steve Park rolled his No. 1 Pennzoil car on the track and turned the first laps of the year.

Daytona Testing
Steve did not participate in the first round of testing at Daytona, choosing instead to be part of the Goodyear Tire test in Atlanta. (See story above) On Monday, January 17th and Tuesday, January 18th Daytona hosted the mandatory test sessions for GM. Of the 52 times posted on Monday, Steve had the 11th fastest time in the 1A car, and the 44th fastest time in the 1 car. Speeds were faster on Tuesday, and Steve posted the 19th fastest time of the session. Once all the GM and Ford times were tabulated, Steve ended up with the 41st fastest cumulative time.
