The Stage Is Set!
Our Assistant Camp Director and I prepare to bring our 2002 campers out for their closing excercise. It was a beautiful day filled with pride and a sense of accomplishment on the part of our campers and staff.
Our children had rehearsed for nearly six weeks to put on a
performance that was phenomenal! The park was decorated with all of the
Arts and Crafts projects and collages that were done during the camp
session. The children had had six weeks of swimming, playing sports and other
games, planting flowers, arts and crafts projects and going on trips to
places like The University of Pennsylvania Museum,The Franklin Institute
and Clementon Park in New jersey along with field trips to local
recreation centers. We were visited and entertained by Mega-Mess of
Nickelodeon fame and The Spirit of Philadelphia Joy Singers. We were
educated about the dangers of drugs through The D.A.R.E. Program and had a
different theme party every Friday. It was a jam packed season filled with
activity and fun.
Afterward we had a private Splash party and cookout. The entire community came out and had a wonderful time swimming,
eating, dancing and just celebrating the success of another one of our
programs here at Stinger
Square. |
