Get Your GRooVE oN !!

You're not a great singer....But you love R&B Music...Why not embark on  a career Composing your own Lyrics?

In doing so, there is one good thing a great songwriter needs to know.....

You need to know how to be able to use Poetic Verse to be able to express how you feel...
One aspect of that is to use Metaphors (using other word to mean something else).....

Let's look at New Edition's  'CAn You Stand The RAin' from the Heartbreak album:

                                                                       Sunny days
                                                                  Everybody loves them
Tell me, baby, can you stand the rain (Can you stand it, whoa...)
Storms will come [I know, I know all the days wont be perfect]
This we know for sure [But can you stand it]
Can you stand the rain [Can you stand the rain]

In this song the guys are using metaphors to describe a romance relationship. The 'rain' and the 'storms '  signify the tough times that
relationships often encounter. They want to know if their love interest will stay with them to work through those hard times. So, the lyrics in this song
are metaphors.  Now you are ready to write your own poetic verses!!
