Home> AMPS- Information
There is not much to tell about amps, all they really do is amplify the wattage in the out-put of the stereo...

Amps are very important, without a amp, it is almost impossible to hear a good level sound from a speaker...

I learned that amp can make a speaker hit harder in bass.  Well I don't really know what to say except give you a couple of projects and links to purchase your own amplifier...
More On Amps:
An amplifier is an electronic device that magnifies the strength of a signal (The wattage that outputs from your stereo/car stereo) . It accepts a signal, such as a radio signal or electric current, at its input terminals and delivers from its output terminals a similar signal at a higher power. The gain of an amplifier is the ratio of the output signal to the input signal. Simple amplifiers are made from transistors and used to be made from vacuum valves. An amplifier requires a source of power in the form of direct current (DC), which may be obtained from a battery, or from the electricity supply via a rectifier. The voltage gain of an amplifier is the signal voltage at the output divided by the signal voltage at the input. Current gain and power gain are defined similarly. Amplifiers in which the voltage gain remains almost the same over a wide range of frequencies are called wide-band amplifiers. The amp can change the frequency of the waves that you hear through your speakers. It can make high frequencies or low frequencies. Low frequency is what produces bass. Bass is what makes the nice low tones that you hear the most out of a sub.

Types of Amplifier Amplifiers can be classified according to the frequencies at which they operate.

Other Amplifier Information I don’t want to make it hard to understand. It is simple how a amp works. All it is, is DC or AC running through a transformer/coil w/ magnet that amplifies the voltage/watts. The design or components of the amp can change the frequency of the stereo puts out. It is almost impossible to amplify the voltage without changes the frequency slightly.
