Reasons to add a Subwoofer to your system: -Reach deeper in bass than your speakers. -Nice tone that everyone likes. -Good for competing w/ your friends on who has a better system. |
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PASSIVE AND POWERED SUBWOOFERS? Powered subwoofers are powered with there own power. They usually have a circuit board with a little amp on it. They have a advantage than a PASSIVE subwoofer but they usually cost more that a PASSIVE subwoofer. Passive subwoofers are powered by the stereo's amp. It may be considered good if the stereo has a good amp (a good stereo amp is about 200 amps) but usually they are around the hundreds or less. The PASSIVE subwoofer may hit harder if the AMP of the stereo is high but it will not hit hard at all if it does not. They are usually less cost than Powered but they are running on the stereo's juice. |
