Welcome to Sun Bowl Ranch • Stratton Mountain, Vermont
Gentle horses and beautiful scenery at Sun Bowl Ranch

Sun Bowl Ranch offers a huge variety of riding experiences on and around lovely Stratton Mountain from mid-June through Columbus Day weekend. The horses go home to Mountain View Ranch in Danby for fall, winter, and spring trail rides and lessons, but return to Sun Bowl Ranch for sleigh rides Friday through Sunday from the weekend of Thanksgiving until mid-March.

John and Letitia Sisters, proud owners of Sun Bowl Ranch

The owners and operators of Sun Bowl Ranch, John and Letitia Sisters, are a husband-and-wife team who extend down-home hospitality to every guest. They strive to keep their bustling ranch a comfortable and welcoming place. The atmosphere is friendly, and they boast of their staff, both two- and four-legged.

Letitia with one of her prize-winning horses

John and Letitia believe that their horses and donkeys are Vermont's finest. Of course, they have a soft spot for their herd, which they consider part of the family. John and Letitia hand-pick all their horses; they look for horses with kindness in their eyes and gentleness in their spirits. Their horses are not only sweet-tempered, but also responsive — a true pleasure for the novice and for the experienced rider alike.

Sun Bowl Ranch is set in an idyllic spot at the base of the tallest peak in southern Vermont, beautiful Stratton Mountain. The Ranch is just five minutes from the Stratton Mountain Resort, which offers many summer activities (mountain biking, fishing, golf, tennis, and much more) and in the winter becomes a full-service skiing center.

Vermont—picturesque any time of year

Sun Bowl Ranch is surrounded by quaint farms and lovely towns full of stores and boutiques. Manchester, for example, is a shopping addict's dream come true. If you prefer to stay closer in, the gift shop at Sun Bowl Ranch offers something for nearly everyone.
