I read
somewhere that one has not visited Xinjiang if one does not visit
Kashi.
This is very true, indeed! Kashi retains an intoxicating
air of olden Silk Road days.
In the Old Town bristled with activities,
with narrow backstreets, earthy-walled homes and craftsmen at work ~ all
these spark images of Kashi as a trading centre in the olden days.
