Journey to the West
 Xi'an (6 - 9  Sept 2007)

I started my day by visiting the Mosque (请镇寺) in the Muslim Quarter.  Mesmerized by the peaceful surrounding of the mosque, I spent half a day there. I was fascinated with the Chinese architectural style of the mosque, the beautiful garden and pagoda.  The mosque compound is big.  I wrote many postcards to friends in the calm surrounding of its courtyard.  The Hui community who came for the afternoon prayers are very friendly too.  After visit to the mosque, I went to try out the lamian beef noodle sold at the streetside near to the mosque.

Xi'an has two big towers in its town centre which are located about 200m from one another. They are the Drum Tower (Gu Lou - 鼓楼) and Bell Tower (Zhong Lou - 钟楼).  Located within a stone-throw-away from the Muslim Quarter.
