As previously mentioned, I decided to use a PC monitor as opposed to an Arcade monitor for simplicity's sake. Since I knew my cabinet would be an upright, I didn't have any concerns about having to put the monitor on it's back facing up. I was lucky and found a used Dell 17" monitor for $75 locally…excellent color and everything. If for some reason I feel like upgrading, getting rid of it certainly won't be a problem, and I can probably get what I paid for it!

Originally, I was considering using a 20" TV with a bad tuner on it that I have down in the basement since it works great as a monitor through the video in. I didn't want to buy a "video out" card, and since the cabinet I have isn't full size, the 17" monitor worked out perfectly! As luck would have it, the 3/4" plywood that held the original monitor in place was still there and in excellent shape! All I needed to do was prop up the back of the monitor so it would be at the same angle as the plexi glass, and then put a brace on the back so it wouldn't drop out of the cabinet!
