Feeling is more important than perfection, in music...
Somethig that comes from the heart is more on the mark than perfect form with no conviction or passion...
My muse doesn't trifle with mistakes; once you've make a mistake you must go on and regain control- albeit with more conviction...
Of course you want melody, but it has to be inspired melody or it's just fluff. If something is truly inspired it comes from the heart and moves your soul as you sing (or play).
understatement is powerful...
There are some really overrated bands as well as good ones. Musicians are people; they have bad nights and good nights, bad years and good years. Sometimes what we say is vital and we feel purposeful when we play. Other times we may be struggling to figure out what in the world we're doing up there. But music isn't about your camp and my camp. It's always frustrated me how music, the very thing that is meant to bring people together and unify can be used to fragment and disintegrate. DemographicsŠ Musicians should have integrity. If something is worth hearing it will be heard. That is, stick to what you play, what's in your heart and your time to play and sing it will come...
Music, as does nature seeks resolve... Anxiety dries up quickly as a source for inspiration... A calm mind is a loyal muse...
The truly gifted are persecuted.
