Biography

The Style

The Bottle Rockets are an explosive Alternative Country Rock band from Festus, Missouri. The band's style is an odd yet fulfilling mixture of elements that only a handful of bands can match. Though it is rather difficult to classify the Bottle Rockets' style, they are usually placed in a genre called 'Alternative Country' or 'No Depression.' Other 'No Depression' bands include Son Volt, Wilco, the Jayhawks, and Uncle Tupelo, all of which are characterized by their stylistic mixture of rock and country.

The Bottle Rockets meld their core heavy rock sound with the honesty of the classic country ballad, then add their critically aclaimed everyday observations on small-town life. The result is rock 'n roll as potent as Led Zepplin, southern rock spontenaity as vibrant as Lynard Skynard, and country sensability as to-the-point as George Strait. And there's enough clever pop hooks and punk energy alongside it all to be downright overwhelming. In an era where music has grown all too corporate and stagnant, the Bottle Rockets remind us what life, and good old-fashioned rock 'n roll, is all about.
