June 4, 2001 Hi and welcome to my new and improved website! As I’m sure you’ve noticed by now, I’ve made some changes around here. Don’t worry, all your favourite content is still here, it’s just presented a little differently. You’ll notice the presence navigation bars that should facilitate your surfing. But, if you notice any broken links, errors, problems, or just have general comments, please let me know.
Not much is new in my life. Between my two jobs and my summer class, I haven’t had a lot of free time. I’ve still managed to have fun, though. Last week, Eric and I went to see U2 in concert, and it was great! Despite our relatively lousy seats (behind the stage, 200-level reds, great view of Bono’s butt), we still really enjoyed the show. The highlight was when they played Sunday Bloody Sunday, but the whole show was quality. One show we did not enjoy, however, was the old, fat, ugly, middle-aged French couple making out in the seats in front of us. They gave a whole new meaning to PDA and believe me, it wasn’t pretty. *Shudder*. I also didn’t enjoy the hassles of getting a flat tire on the way home from the show. But overall, it was worth it.
The summer’s shaping up to be a good concert season. Aside from U2, we also have tickets to see Chantal Kreviazuk next week, Blue Rodeo at the end of the month, and Dave Matthews Band in August. I’m also keeping my fingers crossed for a Montreal date to be announced on Collective Soul’s upcoming Canadian tour. That would definately be cool :) Also in music-related news, I can’t seem to get the Train song “Drops of Jupiter” out of my head. Well, actually, that’s not news at all. In fact, it’s not much of anything. But it’s my site and I can write whatever I want - so there!
A few birthdays worth mentioning: A very happy 21st to Elena yesterday, June 3. Yes, you’re officially part of the Old Person’s club now, and you have to come to Montreal soon so we can celebrate. And happy belated birthday to Robyn that just passed on May 22nd. Plus, lots of cousins have birthdays right around now, so one big happy birthday to Kim, Andrew, Samantha, and Brooke, and to my aunt Suanne. Plus, happy father’s day to all you deserving Dads in a couple of weeks. I hope it’s good golfing weather.
For those of you looking for some reading material, I’ve posted a new thought. I also saw quite a few movies lately, including Angel Eyes, which was surprisingly good, A Knight’s Tale, which was harmless fun, Shrek, which was one of the most enjoyable movies I’ve seen in a long time, and Pearl Harbor, which was pretty disappointing. I posted a review of Pearl Harbor in the movies section so you can check it out.
Well, that was a mouthful! I’m off to enjoy the cold, rainy summer. Hope you’re all doing the same
