FLYERS
COMMENTS
DEC. 22(?)/97 - The Club Underground
Evil Empire, SRB?

I was out of town, but there was a show at the Club Underground. I can't remember who played, but it was at this show that the shit hit the fan between punx and rap-folk at the Underground. Greg Weaver and his girlfriend Cassie were beaten up by bouncers and rap-folk outside of the venue. If anyone has a flyer or wants to tell the story, e-mail me.

DEC. 13/97 - 6:30 - $5 advance/$6 door - The Club Underground
6 Degrees From Bacon, Pen15, Draind, Punker than Punk Punk, Kato.

2nd and last show for a while with Brian. Before this show, we were found drinking in an alley by the pigs. It sucked, but we passed a hat around to raise money for the fine during the show... Good show.

NOV. 22/97 - 7:00 - $5 advance/$6 door - The Club Underground
Sooped-Up Ritalin Boys (S.R.B.), Pen15, 6 Degrees from Bacon, 68 Porno Mags, Punker Than Punk Punk, Kato

Well, the Oddball had died, and we needed a new place to play, so we fell in with this ridiculous place called the Underground... well, more later about the shittiness of that... This was the first show Kato played with Brian and it was crazy! We played well and people liked us, but both me and brian were hooked up to the same amp so it sucked. We screwed up our debut with brian with our attempt at "We're not gonna take it," by Twisted Sister resulting in feedback. It was fun though. Disappointing treatment of Draind who played a grungier style of punk rock by the audience.

OCTOBER (thanksgiving) 1997 - ? - $4 - THE ODDBALL
Can't remember the line-up. This was a fucked-up weekend for me. From my notes: "lots of anger and sadness that Oddballs was closing."

SEPT. 13/97 - 6:30 - $6 advance/$8 door - "The Last Punk Rock Show at..." - The Oddball
Trunk (Burlington, ON), Voice of Reason, Where's Greg? (S.R.B.), 2-4 Happy, 68 Porno Mags, Kato, 6 Degrees from Bacon, Pen15, Punker Than Punk Punk.

This show was greatly controversial. Many of the bands on the flyer were there because of a boycott of the show because the bands were being excluded because of the personal opinions of one of the organizers. This was also supposed to benefit Oddballs, but the rumour was that the organizers fucked off with the money. There was a lot of tension at this show. Almost violence.
Also, a mock flyer was made by some of the bands that made fun of the organizers and some of the other bands playing it. This was the ultimate in divisions we had in our scene at that time.

AUG. 13/97 - 7:00 - $4.00 - The Oddball

MAY 10/97 - $4.00 - "Punkahontas '97" - The Oddball
PEN15, 68 Porno Mags, Punker than Punk Punk, The Slackers.

MAY 3/97 - $4.00 - "Up Your Kilt Show" - The Oddball
Sooped-Up Ritalin Boys (S.R.B.), PEN15, Hatesicle, The Casuals.

FEB. 23/97 - 3:00 - $10 advance/$15 door - 1997 High School Battle of the Bands - Campbell St. Station
Maicon, Daddy Longlegs, Superficial, Suicide Onion, Sooped-Up Ritalin Boys (S.R.B.), Basement, The Happy Campers, Fallacious Crumb, As We Speak, Silver Sliver, Jejune, Down, Breach Unborn, Fifth Order, 423, Flinch, Fatty, Fractal Audio, Limp, Adam Miner, Cedric, And More...

This was a huge show. All different styles of music and it was a battle of the bands. This was the first time I saw S.R.B. play and met the guys. They were awesome! I was so pumped up. They actually won the battle of the bands! Not surprising they are still rocking now.

FEBRUARY 8/97 - 7:00 - $7.00 - The Jook Joint
Rust, Kato, Evil Empire, Daddy Longleg, Fractal Audio

This was a show we didn't even play. It was funny. G$ said his aunt in Calgary was sick and he was goin to visit her. Of course, this was just cause we sucked too badly to play.
