best selling Norwegian artist of the year with close to 100,000 albums
(double
platinum),
and 40,000 singles sold. I am obviously very happy with this, and I hope
to have this kind of
success
all over the world. I want to be able to touch people everywhere, of all
ages and both sexes, with
my songs.
Making good music is what I try to do. I don't care much about having my
photo taken or
nothing
like that. I don't think I look good, I never thought I looked good - but
I think I write good songs.
And that's
what I want to be remembered for."
How do you define a real artist?
Is it in the popularity of his songs, or is it the content and beauty of
the artist's creations? Espen Lind, a musician from Tromsø, Norway,
is in my opinion a true artist. Learning to play the piano at 7, and the
guitar at 9, he spent the majority of his life writing and composing music.
His interviews explain that he doesn't care about his good looks, doesn't
care about "fame," he just cares about expressing himself and touching
as many people as possible with his music. In my opinion that is much more
then you normally find in the popular music scene. His lyrics are intelligent,
touching, and deep. His voice could make the angel's weep, and his compositions
are simply brilliant. Is this the first time you have
ever heard of this artist? Well that is due to the fact that he hasn't
picked up in the States yet. He's sold over 100,000 in his native Norway,
and he is extremely popular in Europe, South American, and Japan. I guess
that's the main reason I am making this site. I want the world to hear,
feel, and be touched by this man's music. I've rarely found musicians who's
music could touch me as deeply as this man's music has. His dream is to
simply touch people all around the world with his expressions, and I want
to help fulfill that dream. Even if you aren't the
deepest of people, and you just adore good music, then you are in the right
place. I would recommend you read through this site, listen to some real
audio files, and let yourself be affected by something that is pure. I
am personally tired of so many people taking music for granted. It's the
one thing in life that is always there to relate to. It's something that
nothing else can penetrate within your soul. Music is the melody of life,
don't let that life slip through your fingers by neglecting what's inside
