After any given performance, David Brown is likely to hear, "You sound just like Byran Adams..." "You sound just like Jon Bon Jovi..." "You sound just like..." But when David melds his vocal talents with those of Charlie Adams and Gig on Plain James, the result is original and distinctive...pure David Brown. With a penchant for writing infectious melodies and lyrics that transcend gender and age, and with the ability to capture the heart and soul of a live audience, Brown brings a potent creativity to the group.
This talented singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer started his musical career in 1984 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, He has been the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for several different bands including Alethea, Code Blue, The Toys. The Psychedelic Cowboys and most recently The David Brown Band; performing at hundreds of venues in the Atlanta, Nashville, Chattanooga areas; as well as opening for such renowned and diverse (as well as crowd-drawing) acts as Eddie Money, Confederate Railroad, Johnny Van Zant, Starship, Atlanta Rhythm Section, just to name a few.
In more recent years, David has gravitated towards the country arena, singing on demos in Nashville and opening shows for artists such as Trace Adkins, Kevin Sharp, James Bonamy, Exile, Richochet, Kenny Chesney and more.
Although David has had some of his original country songs published and recorded, his forte is definitely in the rock and roll genre. This is superbly evidenced on his self-produced 1995 release, Believe, on El Vee Records, on which he wrote or co-wrote all but one of the songs. The title track received extensive regional airplay and sales at live shows and records stores have been consistently brisk since the album was released.
