The first thing you have to understand is the Dragon Ball Z universe only barely resembles the one we live in.
For starters, The DBZ universe is encased in a gigantic, transparent globe. It's ruled by The Creator, who's never been seen. The closest you'll get to The Creator is through King Yemma, the gateway keeper between heaven and the mortal worlds.
For the record, Heaven is it's own planet in this universe. You can walk to it if you care to through a mystical pathway called the Snake Way. As for the rest of the Universe, there's three important planets one must be aware of:
Earth: Like the Universe, this Earth is nothing like ours. The DBZ Earth is basically one continent that resembles all of Asia and about half of Africa. There's two huge islands off of the continent that bear similarities to Northern Europe and most of Australia. Humanity, or what passes for humanity, hail from Earth.
Vegeta: Home of Earth's mortal enemies, the Saiyans. There isn't much left of this planet as it was destroyed by Frieza
Namek: Home of Piccolo and
the snail-like, green-skinned race called the Naeccians. Earths main allies against the Saiyans. |
