Chad Allen

Chad Allen currently stars as Matthew Cooper in the top-rated and highly acclaimed CBS Television series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman which recently celebrated its 100th episode and is entering its fifth season this fall. Allen portrays series star Jane Seymour's teenage son on the show which airs Saturday nights at 9 p.m.

Allen is widely known for his role as the smooth-talking Zach in the series My Two Dads and as David Witherspoon in the series Our House. He also had recurring roles in St. Elsewhere and Webster.

His television credits also include the films Murder in New Hampshire: The Pamela Smart Story on the CBS Television Network, Lights Out, The Case of the Silk King, Code of Vengeance, The Bad Seed, Help Wanted: Kids and A Death in California. He starred in Straight Up, an anti-drug and alcohol educational series of specials, and guest starred in the series The Wonder Years, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Hunter, Highway to Heaven and Simon & Simon.

On stage, he starred in the Los Angeles productions of Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All To You, A Man Called Peter and Oliver!. He recently co-starred with Jane Seymour in the television film Praying Mantis.

Allen is one of the founding members of The Creative Outlet Theatre, a company that is committed to providing a "creative outlet" for talented young actors in the Los Angeles area. Through this company, Allen recently produced and acted in the hit Neil Simon play Biloxi Blues at the Court Theatre in Hollywood.

Allen has worked for such causes as Angels' Flight, M.A.D.D., the American Diabetes Association, The March of Dimes, Project Angel Food and the Autistic Children's Foundation. He was recognized by Los Angeles mayor Tom Bradley was an outstanding volunteer for his contributions to the American Cancer Society. He was born in Orange County, California, and currently lives in Malibu. In his free time, Chad enjoys scuba diving, playing racquetball and riding his motorcycle around Southern California. His birth date is June 5th.
