BCUH--VICKY'S ROOM/NIGHT

JAKE is waiting outside VICKY'S hospital room. DR. DOYLE comes out.

DOCTOR
Mr. McKinnon? You can see your wife now. She's still unconscious, but she's stable.

JAKE
How are the babies?

DOCTOR
They're fine. We're going to run some more tests soon. But you can have a few minutes with her.

Jake enters Vicky's room.

JAKE
Vick? Wake up, honey. (He takes her hand). You know, when I saw them bringing you out of that building, all I kept thinking was "please god, let her be alive." (He kisses her hand). Open your eyes, Vicky. Open your eyes, and I'll get you the biggest bag of cheese flips you've ever seen. Come on, you'll do anything for cheese flips, right?

DONNA rushes into Vicky's room.

DONNA
Jake!

JAKE
Hi, Donna.

DONNA
I just heard. How is she?

JAKE
See for yourself.

DONNA
Oh, my precious darling. This is awful, Jake. It's just like Marley.

JAKE
I was just thinking the same thing.

DONNA
Thank goodness she wasn't burned. Victoria? Victoria?

JAKE
She can't hear you, Donna.

DONNA
Of course she can. She can hear me - and she can hear you too. We just have to talk to her until she opens her eyes.

JAKE
That's what you said about Marley.

DONNA
And she woke up, didn't she? And so will Victoria.

Donna runs her hand over Vicky's head and kisses her, gently.

BCUH--AMANDA'S HOSPITAL ROOM/NIGHT

RACHEL and ALLI are with AMANDA in her hospital room. Amanda is still struggling to speak. CARL rushes in.

AMANDA
Carl! Where's Cameron?

CARL
They haven't found him yet. I wanted to come check on Amanda and Victoria.

AMANDA
I'm fine, I just want Cameron.

RACHEL
He's fine, honey.

ALLI
Grandma's right. Cameron's fine.

AMANDA
(To Carl)
Why was he at Cory in the first place?

RACHEL
Amanda, there will be time for questions later.

AMANDA
Why? Why not now? What is you're hiding from me?

CARL
No, Rachel, it's all right. Amanda, Cameron was at Cory for me. He was there because I sent him there.

AMANDA
What?

CARL
I received a note about a package that I was to pick up at Cory. Consequently, they think it was this package that had a bomb inside.

RACHEL
Are they sure about that?

AMANDA
Who's behind this?

CARL
I wish I knew.

AMANDA
I need to get out of here. I have to get to Cameron!

Carl's cell phone rings.

CARL
Excuse me. (Carl leaves the room).

RACHEL
Honey, you can't go anywhere until the doctor checks you out.

AMANDA
(trying to swing her legs over the bed to get out)
I'm fine! How many times do I have to say that?

Alli stops her and makes her stay in the bed.

ALLI
Mom, I want to be sure.

AMANDA
Alli, I'm not even hurt.

ALLI
Why can't you just do this for me? Just wait until the doctor tells us you're okay.

RACHEL
Listen to your daughter.

ALLI
Yes, listen to your daughter, Mom. You're still having trouble breathing.

AMANDA
Great, and while I'm listening and breathing, my husband could be dead.

RACHEL
He's not dead, Amanda. He's fine.

AMANDA
If one more person says that --

Carl comes back into the room.

CARL
Rachel, could I speak to you for a moment?

RACHEL
Yes, of course.

AMANDA
What is it? Is it Cameron?

RACHEL
(To Alli)
Make sure she stays put.

ALLI
(Laughing)
Okay.

Rachel goes into hall with Carl.

RACHEL
What is it?

CARL
That was Joe. Cameron is dead.

RACHEL
What? Are they sure?

CARL
Joe saw the body himself.

RACHEL
Oh, no...oh, no....

Rachel looks through glass into Amanda's room with tears in her eyes. Amanda has given up her fight to escape, and is laying back on the pillow, her eyes halfway closed.

CORY PUBLISHING/SAME NIGHT

JOSIE picks up her phone and dials.

JOSIE
(With an unsteady voice)
Gary, when you get this message, meet me at BCUH. I need to see you right away. (She hangs up).

She walks over to JOE.

JOSIE
(her voice shaking)
We have to tell Chris.

JOE
I know. God, I know.

He walks over to CHRIS with Josie. Chris is badgering one of the firefighters for information, but turns on Joe and Josie when he sees them.

CHRIS
Joe, what the hell is going on here? What's happening with Toni?

JOE
They found her, Chris.

CHRIS
(a sound of relief in his voice)
Great...where is she? I need to get to her, I need to be with her!

JOE
(placing a hand on Chris' arm)
I'm sorry, Chris...she's dead.

CHRIS
(staring at him)
No...she's not...there's a mistake.

JOE
There's no mistake, Chris. I'm so sorry.

CHRIS
Oh, God....oh, God. We aren't done yet...we have too much left to do...she can't be gone!
