THE HARBOR CLUB-EVENING
Most of the cast, with the exception of Cass, Lila, David, Cindy,
and Charlie, is gathered on the balcony of the Harbor Club.
Everyone is in cocktail dresses and tuxedos, and Josie and Gary
stand at the front of the group, with the minister.
MINISTER
Josie and Gary have asked that you all be here for the renewing
of their wedding vows and their love for each other. They've
requested your presence because you are all special to them. They
wish for you to share their joy as they once again declare their
love for one another. Josie and Gary have written their own
wedding vows for this evening. Josie?
JOSIE
(facing Gary)
Gary...you and I have been through a lot in the past year. We've
had our share of pain and our share of heartbreak, but through it
all, you've never left my heart. You're my soulmate, my reason
for being, and my love...
As Josie speaks, we fade onto the congregation. We see Jake and
Vicky, Jake's hand resting softly on Vicky's stomach, and fade
into their wedding vows.
//JAKE
I love you. I love you. Today you are making my biggest dream
come true. We were kids together, and now we're going to have
kids together. We got our family. And I promise you that I am
going to take care pf you and the guys in good times and in bad,
and I'm going to do my best to make everybody here laugh once a
day. We're going to grow old together. Not soon. I give you all I
have, all I am, and all I ever will be Because without you, I'm
not anyone. You know something, Vicky? When we're together, my
life is complete. So wherever we are, As long as we're together,
that's home.
VICKY
We love you, Jake. And thanks to you, I know what love is again.
It's been standing right by me my whole life, sometimes standing
so close, I couldn't even see you. But I see you now, and my eyes
are wide open. I see the man I've been looking for, the man who
accepts me exactly the way I am, doesn't try to change me, just
to help me be myself in so many better ways. You've made me
honest with myself. That's not always easy. You brought me to my
family. And now we're going to be a family. And I promise you
that this is only the beginning of all the happiness that we're
going to share. So I cannot promise to laugh at all your jokes,
but I promise to listen to them all. And I share everything that
I am with you -- today, tomorrow, forever.//
Their flashback fades back into Gary and Josie again.
MINISTER
Gary?
GARY
Josie Sinclair. I love you more than my own life. When I've been
away from you, it's like someone has ripped out my heart. Every
time I set eyes on your beautiful face, I think about how lucky I
am to be a part of your life...and how blessed I am to be married
to you....
Gary speaks and we see Rachel and Carl, holding hands and smiling
at one another. We flashback into their wedding vows:
//RACHEL
I, Rachel Davis Cory, give myself to you Carl to be your wife.
I promise to love and sustain you in sickness and in health, in
sorrow
and in joy, in plenty and in want, for as long as we both shall
live.
All that I have is yours. I that I am is yours. I give you my
faith
and my trust from this day forward until the end of time.
CARL
I, Carl Andrew Hutchins, take you Rachel Davis Cory to be my
lawful wedded
wife. I promise to sustain you in covenant of marriage. All that
I am is yours.
All that I have is yours. All that I ever will be is yours and I
promise you
faithfully that I will never betray your trust, not as long as we
both may live.//
Coming out of this flashback, we see Lorna, standing alone, tears
in her eyes. She looks down at her right hand, where the
engagement ring that Gabe gave her is on her third right finger.
She twists the ring and we flashback to the night that Gabe
proposed to her.
//GABE
Lorna, will you marry me?
LORNA
Gabe....
GABE
Is that a yes?
LORNA
This is unbelievable...How can you think that this is possibly
going to work? How can you be so sure?
GABE
I've never been so sure of anything in my life. I love you...I
will love you until the day that they put me in the ground.//
We go back to Lorna as she reaches up and wipes away a tear, and
looks back to Gary and Josie.
MINISTER
Josie and Gary invite you all to share in their joy with a party
inside the Harbor Club. May you all go in peace. And Gary, you
may kiss your bride.
Gary and Josie smile, leaning in and kissing one another as the
congregation applauds. The group scatters, congratulating Josie
and Gary, and talking amongst one another as we:
