R1 Effect Squall's R1 trigger is really helpful in battles with monster, not bosses though. It increases his attack by 1/4 of the current amount. Okay this is how it works, when Squall is about to attack an enemy, press R1 at the same time when he slashes his enemy. It will gain pretty much damage. Not a 'just watch and play' one. When you start using it, an indicator will pop up at the bottom of the screen. This has something to do with the R1 trigger. When the bar reaches the second last square of the indicator to the left. Press R1, there's a total of 5 bar. The Renzokuken can be set to 'auto' so you don't have to trigger the R1 yourself. You can do this in the 'status' screen when you press . Then press 3 times and it will lead you there. Set 'Gunblade' to 'auto'. After finishing the Renzokuken, Squall will sometime use another attack, which you can get by upgrading your weapon. You can get certain other attacks depending on which weapon you upgrade. Hrere is a list of them: Rough Divide: After using the 5 hit attack, Squalll will rush up to his enemy and give his opponent a slash. Fated Circle: Squall will leap into the air and do a 360 degree turn and while he does that a shockwave will unleash within him and hit all his opponents. Blasting Zone: A couple of lights will shoot out of Squall's Gunblade and hit his oppenents. Lion Heart: Squall's strongest limit break in the game. Squall will hit his opponent into the air and jump with him. Then he will attack it several times.
