The turtle shell friction calls by Jeff Zimmerman are actually carved and painted wood and feature a slate calling surface. Jeff also makes boat paddle calls (above), box calls, and wooden wingbone-style yelpers (below).

Jim Groenier makes unique one sided and double sided boxcalls made out of a variety of woods. He also makes cow horn yelpers and wingbone yelpers(below).

Ed Blankenship makes boxcalls and slate calls. The box shown above is made out of Pacific Yew. His slate calls (shown below) are made with deeper pots which he believes makes a richer sound.

Danyale McDonald makes custom box calls and deer calls. He uses a variety of woods and can make a call to order. His calls are attractive, reasonably priced, and sound good. He had a misfortunate accident last year and according to him "I got in a fight with my table saw and lost". He lost some fingers but the doctors were able to re-attach them. He recovered great and is back to making his calls. If you would like more info you can visit his website at McDonald Game Calls.

Ronnie Bullard has been making turkey call's for 15+ years mainly for friend's and other local folk. He uses only hand select wood's and a wide varity of species. Pictured above is one of his tube calls, small in size but big on sound. He also makes box, scratch, and pot calls. His tube call's are made in a smaller fashion because for years he heard people complain about the bulkiness of all the call's and hunting gear they carry around in their hunting vest. According to him "strap this around your neck and forget about all the other call's in your turkey vest"! Pictured below is some more of his calls.
