Niles Oesterle makes box calls using a variety of woods, including butternut, cedar, cherry, maple, osage, and walnut. Due to high demand for his calls he currently has an 18 month wait from the time an order is placed until it can be filled. He also offers owl hooters and box call holsters.

Paul Meek of Sandhill Mississippi makes box calls using a variety of woods and puts out a limited edition of calls each year. The second photo is a year 2001 special edition one sided call made out of butternut. The third photo shows one of Paul's long boxes.

Irving Whitt lives in South Carolina and he makes very nice hand carved calls. The first photo shows a call made out of cherry and the second photo shows a call made out of walnut. Larry Scheidegger lives in Wisconsin, a state well known for producing some fine call makers. Larry makes all kinds of calls including the ones shown. He also offers scratch boxes and highly decorated calls. The first photo is his "fatboy" design made out of soft maple with a walnut lid. The second photo is a long box made out of walnut for the sides and lid with a birdseye maple base. Also shown is Larry's barrel yelpers made out of claro walnut and maple burl along with a wingbone.
