Works of Fiction

Abstract:

Fiction requires that an abstract accompany all submissions. This abstract must include all of the following information:

  • title,
  • author,
  • genre,
  • brief description (no more than three sentences),
  • whether you would like readers to be able to contact you,
  • contact information.
  • Content:

Fiction has no restrictions regarding content. However, works that contain sexually explicit material must contain a reader advisory.

As a general rule in literature however, works should be of lasting interest; they should reward the reader in some way. This is a specialty magazine so works need not appeal to large audiences. Feel free to experiment. Have fun! Learn from your triumphs and mistakes!

    Genre:

Works in any fiction genre are welcome. Submissions may be either prose or poetry. At this time we do not accept non-fiction works.

    Format:

Fiction requires that all works be submitted in Microsoft Word 2000 (or lower). We prefer that works be submitted as email attachments rather than email text.

    Deadlines:

We accept submissions at any time, however in order to meet our publication deadlines materials must be received no later than the seventeenth day of the month prior to publication.

    Terms:

All works must be submitted by the original author. If it is discovered that a work has been plagiarized or submitted without the explicit consent of the author, legal action may be taken.

Although a limited number of articles are published each month, Fiction is pleased to accept most works. There is no restiction on the number of times an author may be published by the magazine, but a particular work may only be published once.

    Articles

    Abstract:

Fiction requires that an abstract accompany all articles. This abstract must include the following information:

  • title of article,
  • author,
  • topic.
  • Content:

Fiction is always searching for extraordinary new articles. We accept submissions in three general categories:

  • articles for the Simple Advice...column. These articles must focus on one simple, easily performed, non-time consuming excercise or task that can be done that will improve writing technique or can potentially lead to the opportunity to become published.
  • resources for writers. These articles are tailored to the needs of writers. These can encompass virtually any subject that will be of interest to writers. Some examples may be journaling, freelance, ebooks, or creating a portfolio.
  • articles that are literature oriented but not intended solely for writers.

  • We will not at this time accept literary essays (as might be written, for example, for a university English class).

Submission of an article is no guarentee of acceptance. We reserve the right to refuse to publish articles.
