We have worked with a Bradford based company, Music Media UK Ltd, who specialise in pre-match entertainment at major sporting venues and events. The project culminated in our pupils producing pre-match entertainment at a rugby match at Newcastle Falcons in September. The project involved our talented dancers, singers and musicians and there were a number of roles for non-performers. Pupils were involved in web design, digital photography, journalism and the making of a video documentary. |

70 children from our four schools experienced a package which combined sport with music and media and allowed pupils to work with a professional team and use industry standard equipment in a real life situation. |
On Sunday April 1st, 40 pupils from our schools visited Kingston Park, home of the Newcastle Falcons, to watch their match against London Irish. The children were also able to experience the pre-match entertainment produced by Music Media UK and get a flavour of the type of performance that they would be involved with in September. We were lucky enough to secure a grant from the National Lottery body, Awards for All. This enabled the pupils to visit Bradford during the summer and watch Music Media at work with Bradford Bulls Rugby Club. Pupils also visited the National Museum of Cinema and Television in Bradford. |
