The Greengate Studio is in working use by Pauline and Colin Saul and is
situated at the heart of the former artist's centre. The studio is on
the second floor of the house and overlooks Greengate Close, one of the
settings for Dorothy L Sayers "Five Red Herrings".
Pauline Saul
"I was born in Liverpool and trained as a teacher in Hull. During the
ten years prior to my move to Scotland in 1999, I co-ordinated the artwork
throughout a large junior school situated in the York area. My work has
evolved through water colours and acrylics into mixed media.
"I have exhibited in the Harbour Gallery and The Tolbooth where
I had a successful exhibition in the Main Gallery.
"In 2003 I was asked to represent Kirkcudbright as a working artist
at their tourism stand in Glasgow's Exhibition Centre."
The Studio was recently open for the 2004 Spring Fling, organised by
Gracefield Arts Centre.
"As well as painting wildlife and scenic views I also
enjoy painting cats like the one shown here".
