Jungle Grrrl was one of the most dedicated WOW wrestlers about corresponding with her fans, even though it was often difficult for her to have access to a computer. I wish I had some comments to share from the original board, when WOW was in full swing. I will never forget the time that, without knowing me from a Rioter :), she defended me against a ranting troll who did not care for my brand of marksmanship. It showed me that she was going to be kind and loyal to her fans and it made me determined to return that loyalty. With time I came to realize her sincerity towards her fans and her love of wrestling was no angle and that she was even more wonderful than the first impression. These archives are a comprehensive record of the second incarnation of the WOW message board. All of Erica's posts appear in red.

I have seen numerous matches on your part, and I'm starting to think your next
match should be against David McLane, because he doesn't seem to be taking you
as seriously as he should. He keeps sending you opponents that aren't fit to
shine your shoes (though the way you toss them around, they sure do a good job
of shining the ring apron). I have seen you annihilate Beckie, Bronco Billie,
Heather Steele, and numerous others with little trouble, yet the one person that
has defeated you and perhaps the most OBVIOUS worthwhile opponent has eluded a
rematch. I suppose Ms. Gold (I'll refrain from using any of her nicknames out of
courtesy) is simply afraid to face you again, and she has certainly shown she is
able to decide her own matches. Ever get the feeling she's avoiding you? Anyhow,
the true purpose here is to decide exactly what prey is worth the sport. After
all, a true hunter is only interested in the challenging game (remember Pete
Posthlewaite's (sp?) character from Jurassic Park II?). So let's just decide
exactly what is worth the hunt:
-Danger: One of the only women that can exceed you in the power department.
Still, you're faster and more diverse in offense, and seem more resilient. It
would be an almost even matchup, but I still think the odds favor you.
-Riot: Contrary to popular belief, Riot doesn't stand a chance against the Grrrl.
Her offense is limited to one devastating move (power bomb), and I think she
lacks the versatility to soften JG up for it (remember, it takes time to set
that move up). To boot, she's cocky, and usually takes a hit or two because of
it. That being the case, if she lets JG have even one shot, I don't think she's
resilient enough to recover from repeated Jungle assaults.
-Thug: This would be interesting simply because Thug's immense size would limit
JG in her offensive arsenal (can you se her lifting Thug over her shoulders?).
Still, speed and power to attack would win in the end. If Thug can't survive
Beckie's assaults, she'll definitely fall to the Grrrl's onslaught.
-Slam Dunk: Again, we have a situation wwhere size may limit JG's offense. Still,
SD is as slow as Thug, and about as single-minded in offense. Punches and kicks
(SD's main arsenal) are not enough to keep JG down. Sure, her chokeslam can come
out of nowhere, but she'll have to catch up to JG first!
-Roxy Powers: Though not singularly devaastating, Roxy sure has versatility and
athleticism to spare. That's why she would be a good hunt.
-Poison: Exactly who would be doing the hunting here? Here we have another
wrestler that wears down her opponents slowly, with an array of moves (many
being submission moves that JG rarely is subjected to). Her weakness is her lack
of power, which may be necessary to keep JG down, given her seemingly endless
tolerance for damage.
-Terri Gold: Just for revenge, and threee pounds of tin at her waist, JG should
prep for this hunt. I don't think it would be the most exciting match (Danger
would be better), but it would be good. I only worry that JG would be
inadvertently hurt because TG has botched a few moves in the past. Seeing as
nobody sells a move like the Grrrl, I fear this may result in an extremely
unpleasant accident. Anyhow, Terri is maybe a bit faster, but not an efficient
flyer, nor resilient, nor hard-hitting (she's a middleweight in the power
department). She is most on par with JG in the offensive department; with an
array of different maneuvers to confuse and disorient her opponents. However, if
she can't maintain the initiative, JG will hunt her down and destroy her.
Hope you've all enjoyed my little analysis. Please, if you have your own ideas
for great matchups or think I have been false in my own ideas, do say so.

The field is pretty narrow, but I like the idea of a matchup with Roxy since she
has the physical stature to at least look convincing against JG in the ring on a
suface level.
I also like the concept of taking on the bookers of Jungle's matches, or
presumably McLane. There is nothing disappointing about seeing Jungle work
against anybody, but if there was one complaint I have it is that she may have
been paired up against one too many squash opponents. It left her open to cheep
shots by her critics, who derided the strength of her schedule and may have
overlooked her when drawing up their personal rankings because of it. From what
JG has said in interviews and on the board, I get the feeling she grew a little
weary of matches against the likes of Jade and Bronco all the time, as well, and
wanted a piece of top dogs like Danger and Riot. We all got a taste of what kind
of show she could put on against an upper tier worker at the ppv.
Riot is good, but I agree with you that Jungle is a superior wrestler in two
respects. Power and work rate. The powerbomb is a great move, and that corkscrew
elbow Riot pulled off at Unleashed deserves credit. But, Jungle is much stronger
with moves like the vertical suplex and superplex, and Riot's work rate is slow
by comparison. In fact, if any of JG's matches displease the wrestling purists
out there, I firmly believe that it is because her opposition could not keep up
with her in terms of work rate.
Interesting that you say she is the best at selling the moves of her
opponents... one of the biggest false criticisms out there is that she is
"stiff" and does not sell. I would tend to side with you. She is not
asked to sell much, so to jump on that is kind of silly anyway. But, as one of
the very best technicians in WOW, she is not lacking in any obvious area of her
craft and I believe it is just a way for the haters to get a shot in at her.
As for Terri, I think this is who she will hunt next. I tend to believe it is a
feud WOW has intended to revisit all along, partially due to the fact that JG
and Ms. Gold seem to have some chemistry in the ring and doing promos, and seem
to be friends on some level back stage.

( 3 of 9 )Good discussion here. First of all, I totally disagree
with the characterization of Riot as a one-trick wonder. I don't think I'm
marking at all to say that she has the second most varied and impressive
movelist in WOW... JG is first, I gotta say that.
Now, as for the seeming lack of direction for JG's character... I do have some
sympathy for the writers about that. After all, when a federation just starts
up, no one knows who's supposed to be good. If you don't give your stars a good
number of squashes, no one would be able to tell that they were supposed to be
the stars.
Now I can hear you saying "yeah, but they kept giving JG squashes well
after it was clear she didn't need them anymore to get over"... which is
true. But you have to keep in mind that WOW only had one singles title. So you
can't have more than one or two contenders at any given time. If you agree that
Danger/Riot should have been a title feud, which I personally do, then I think
Beckie was the best feud for JG to have. I don't think "best splash"
was a good excuse for it, mind you. But if you have established a
Terri/Danger/Riot triangle, then JG/Beckie is the logical next heel-face matchup,
with the added benefit of their styles meshing nicely.
So, I can see how it got to this point. But personally, I would give JG a title
shot very quickly, whether it be against Terri or someone else... the important
thing is that she fight for the title, in my view. I would also add another belt
to avoid this type of situation where people in effect are de-pushed because you
can only have so many contenders for one belt.

decent faces in WOW?? I know they've been trying to elevate Roxy and Wendi, but
the "hiatus" has served to kill whatever momentum that they had.

( 5 of 9 )I definately wouldn't categorize Riot as a one-trick
wonder, though I think you were responding to Ben's comments. One of the reasons
I want so badly to see JG and Riot clash is because I consider them to be the
top two wrestlers in the fed, all around, and I feel as though they would put on
one of the best women's matches anyone has seen anywhere in a long time. I would
still rank Jungle higher, for reasons in my other post.
I would agree that Beckie was a fit for the ppv, especially since they were
pushing T/D/R. When the season ended, it almost seemed as if WOW might be
angling for a rematch with Beckie.
The important thing is, WOW needs to either cut down on it's overall roster size
so the good wrestlers get to work more often against one another, or hire some
new girls that can keep up with the best we now have, or intensify the training
regimine of a lot of girls not named JG, Riot, Beckie or Danger. Somehow, they
need to make more of the matches that are not "in the loop" of title
contention a more interesting and compelling, and by virtue of ring skills more
than any other factor.
We have had a season to find out how good JG is in the ring, so it's a good time
to re-evaluate some of the other girls in terms of where they stand against the
likes of her. Right now, most are lagging big time.

( 6 of 9 )Kev, I suppose they were pushing Roxy, inasmuch as she
beat Slam and Slam was supposed to be a top heel. I'm not sure they were pushing
Wendi. Yeah, she did get to feud with RIOT, but in my view, she had "JTTS"
stamped on her forehead. They probably should push Wendi, although I'm
not sure whether it should be as a heel or a face, and certainly it should be in
a different gimmick altogether. But she definitely is one of the more talented
and physically imposing wrestlers.
Phil, I totally and completely agree with everything you said... couldn't agree
more. And furthermore, I'll add that the cluster at the top could have been
avoided by not making Terri the champ in the first place. If one of Danger or
RIOT had the belt to begin with, then it could have been the other one of D/R
and JG trying to take it off her. All three workers are IMO much more talented
and charismatic than Terri.

( 7 of 9 )It was a necessary evil that the show had to take some
time to get a feel for who could work, I guess. I enjoyed the Terri/JG angle in
the first few weeks, but as the show evolved I think the certain wrestlers we
are talking about progressed signifigantly while Terri, mostly, hung on to the
strap and kind of hurt the fed.
I'm borrowing an idea from one of your "TR's Thoughts" here, but I
think it was a good one. It's hard for WOW to straddle the fence between a show
which appeals to a family audience by championing a babyface like Terri on one
hand, and holding swimsuit contests on the other. In season two, I would like to
see Terri improve some of her ring work and get some kind of edge if she is
going to keep up at all with the rest of the contenders. Maybe a Kurt Angle
type, I don't know. But something, because her vice grip on the championship
most likely hurt WOW to an extent.

Formula" when creating a rivalry for Terri. And then hotshotting said
rivalries over a 2-3 week period doesn't help either.
Poison said in an interview that watching WWF and WCW was required. I think that
maybe McLane needs to take a look at that himself, or get someone who's more in
tune with today's world.

I see the gimmick forcing itself out here if you get what I mean ...
We all agreed before that the top 3 wrestlers alphabeticaly are:
1- Danger
2- Jungle Grrrl
3- Riot
I agree with TR about the best match up with JGrrrl was Beckie which is the top
among the faces ...
Why not have JGrrrl up with Danger or Riot because Danger & Riot are a lot
better in the mic & also their gimmicks fit the game at that point ...
Also JGrrrl has a lot more moves then Danger & Riot ... that's why she had a
lot of matchs showing her skills but they realy need to get her a worthy
oponnent ...
As for the worthy oponnent:
I think Riot will be the perfect match with JGrrrl ... cause truley Riot &
JGrrrl are the most skilled two girls in WOW followed by Danger the strongest
girl in the fed ... but Riot sell her opponent move better than JG ... JG is
faster then Riot ... According to the gimmick JGrrrl would be the winner ... In
real life ... well ... I would realy love to see that one ...
JGrrrl showed at her interview that she is realy good in responding ... I wonder
why they don't give her more mic time ... I think she'll do great ... but I
can't comment on it now cause ... well ... It didn't happen yet ...
While I'm writting this ... there is something special in each & everyone of
them including Terri Gold ... each wrestler is just a lot better at a certain
move then another ... but the majorty also turns back to these 3 ...
All I could say ... we can't lock the circle around them ... so we just have to
let others get in to take their beating every while ... the best matchs will be
having them against one another ...

( 1 of 10 )Okay, at the risk of earning our beloved Grrrl's ire, I dare to ask this question that seems to be taboo amongst most women. However, I believe the Grrrl is a bit beyond the quirks of the average female (hunting your own food will do that I suppose), so I shall brave to ask. What exactly are her REAL physical stats. What I mean is real height, real weight, arm thickness, max on bench, and so forth. I don't mean waist and bust size (I'm not quite that perverted), just stick to strength and basics. I know this stuff is pretty much posted on the WOW site, but the problem is that most of the girl......women seem reluctant to disclose their weight. Also, it is a sad fact that most wrestling companies LIE about the stats of their wrestlers to make them seem more intimidating. Let's face it: the Big Show does NOT weigh 500lbs (400 maybe), Kevin Nash has gone from being described as "over seven feet tall" to being about 6'10", and the list goes on. I still wonder if, at 5'10", Chris Benoit actually DOES weigh 225lbs (I personally doubt it). Whether or not she is willing to disclose this information is, of course, up to her. At the very least, I want to know if she is 5'7" or not (I actually thought she was taller).

Ok here goes...
I am 5'7" tall
I weigh in at 165lbs., of muscle. I believe I am the 2nd or 3rd heaviest, but I
carry my weight well and am not at all ashamed of that.
I have never maxed out on bench, but I would assume that I could put up my
weight.
My legs are my strongest.
I have fluctuated throughout the show as far as how lean I am. At the
pay-per-view, I was at my leanest.
I am not offended by the questions, I think that is the nature of the business.

weighs 165! I have NEVER seen ANYONE carry it better! I would have said maybe
130. Obviously her muscular frame fooled me. That is impressive & a tribute

But, 165! I would have never guessed THAT!
I've been going over the matches lately, and she definately is a lot more toned
and thinner in her matches against Jane Blond and HHS than she was in October of
2000. Always looks Grrrrreat, though .

I had JGrrrl pegged at 135. But when she said 165 I thought about it and it did
make sense. With her outfit it's a little harder to see muscle definition, so I

This is not surprizing (I from day one was thinking 150). Look at her back and
the width of her shoulders. Also check out the density and thickness of her
legs. Who ever it was that put Jungle Grrrl together did not skimp and buy cheap
parts. Jungle Grrrl is put together solidly and is built to last.
Thug of course is the heaviest but she is 50% body fat. Danger might be the
second heaviest but she is very tall. Jungle Grrrl once wrote that she believes
that she is the strongest WOW girl. I believe that she is as well.
Big Show (Paul Wight) had to go to court about 3 years ago for hitting a man in
a bar in self defense. Big Show told the Judge that he weighs between 440-450.
The judge revieved the video that was taken from the bar room video camera and
it clearly showed the other man shoving Big Show and trying to get in his face.
Big Show just curled up his 30 Pound fist and threw a short punch to the side of
the other mans face. The other man went down like a wet dish rag. The Judge
ruled in Big Shows favor since the other guy struck first and Big Show only
struck once.
Every Dog has his day. This one just happens to be
mine.

lines of 140-145 lbs... and the Huntress said herself that she is 165.
I'll be brutally honest... she carries it superbly, but it does make sense,
since muscle is heavier than fat, but even with it being pure muscle, that
number still boggles my mind... I never would have guessed that number.

WOW fails, it will be because men in this society couldn't keep up with the
precedence gifted women like Jungle and Danger set. Intimidation. Empowered

I saw some old tapes of WOW shows and I saw the match where you took Beckie to
task and shoved her off the turnbuckle during her's and Bronco Billie's match
with
Caged Heat. I have to say that was fantastic. You threw down the gauntlet and
she
grabbed it. And naturally, we saw the winner. That was YOU! And always you win
I like the way you go for the same methods all the time. You do the headbutt to
their
mid-sections and soften it for the final kill! The Jungle Splash that we all
know and
love.
When WILL McLane ever give you a shot for the belt?! From what I have seen, and
I see these things well, (close to it anyway) you ARE indeed the number one
contender for the title! Why does McLane not see that?! Is he THAT scared of
you?

I just wanted to restate something here that has not been touched on in quite a while: the women of WOW are incredibly talented atheletes. Take away all of the junk about how they are assertive, dominant, strong, well-built, beautiful, or whatever. The essential fact to look at is that they are REMARKABLY talented, and the Grrrl is foremost among them in pure ability. These women put their bodies on the line every time they go out (and their pride as well, given some of the ridiculous personas they have to take on in the name of lame wrestling storylines), and you can bet they're not doing it for fame (wouldn't a bigger company be better?), fortune (MacLaine wouldn't dish out that kinda dough), or to strike a blow for women's lib (please...you HAVE seen their outfits, haven't you?). They do it because they are excellent atheletes/stuntwomen (yes, even Thug), and the thrill of competition and the chance to perform is more than enough. For this, I applaud them all, and the Grrrl especially. I tip my hat to you (okay, I'm not actually wearing one, but you get the picture).

really cute in my uniform, hehee. Is she still beatin' on the cute lil faces?
She really does have some awesome power moves. But she's a meanie n I still
don't like her. As I said before, she's the wrestler ya just love to hate, yet
is lots of fun to watch.
If ya do get a rematch with Terri Gold, I hope she beats ya like a rented mule,
but it'll prolly be the other way around, since ya always beat up on my good
girls.

I have seen you're pic with the AI, Marina. You are

Thing is, let's hope that part of the audition process is not ring time with

episodes I recorded. I, of course, got a chance to see you at your best, beating

1. What was the most difficult move for you to master of the ones we have seen
and why?
2. Danger mentioned that she brought some props to her audition for WOW. I get
the impression you did not know you were going to be JG until after you were
hired (could be wrong). What did you do in your audition to distinguish yourself
from other candidates?
3. In the Onair sports interview, those guys kept trying to get you to commit to
some Independent matches over the summer. Are you really considering that?

Okay here are my responses...
1. The most difficult move for me, believe it or not, was the missle drop. I
would be attempting it on Lotus, the first time. She is a pretty small girl and
as for the target area... it was boob or face, so you could see my dilema. That
was really the only one that I was hesitant to do. After that match, I loved
that move so much, it has become a regular for me.
2. I actually made a complete ass of myself at the auditon, that I was very
surprised that they actually called me back. They asked me if I were a superhero
who would I be, I answered, "Cat Woman". I said I would be
"bad", I definitely could not pull off the "good girl" role.
I didn't take any props, the audition was a last minute decision.
3. I'm always considering things. Never let your options fade.

The Missile drop kick, eh? I can see that. Especially since Jungle launches
herself 3/4ths of the expanse of the entire mf ring to hit her spot on that
move. Mark McGwire doesn't even achieve that kind of trajectory on a regular
basis. I remember my friend Lucky commenting on the missile after watching the
ppv. She called it the best move of the night. I was like "awright"
outwardly, but inside I was thinking "did you miss the ladder splash or
what?"
Lucky is so much smarter than me when it comes to wrestling. Methinks that
missile could take down the USS Constititution, provided it hits the right spot.
The missile gets obscured in the shadow of such an expansive aresenal, so you
lose some perspective on just how good beastess' is.
Not anymore! There are a lot of missile drop kicks out there, but none as
devastating as Jungle Grrrl's.

for several reasons:
- there is no "help" from the other wrestler
- you've gotta have good leg strength too get distance AND extension
- Wrestlers like Booker T have it even wworse, since he's got real long legs
- then there's the landing

I have to say the Worst move I experienced was The Pig
girls Cross Body off the apron at PPV, it knocked the wind out of me, for
real!!!! Did you notice it took me a couple of seconds to get up. And everyone

Hunter-gatherers. Give me a couple days for boot camp, Scorpy Wallace. They are
horribly undisciplined and need to be re-educated in Splashdown battlefield
tactics. But, when I am through, they will fight like cornered animals to defend
The Jungle.
In addition, I should like to appoint Debbe M Patton as my lieutenant and
unofficial lordess of dscipline. After all "this is a barracks, not a
bordello"!
Considering the terrain and the fact that the south flank is particularly
vulnerable to the infestation of Chipmunks, I would like to reserve a position
in my officer corp for Brigadier Briguy, who is an expert in battlefield rodent
control. This order must be signed off by you, however, as this military genius
is considered to be a loose cannon and resistent to authority. A search party
may need to be formed to secure his services.

Besides, an unwarranted one on one confrontation with Deadly would result in
something like the plotline of a B-rated vamp in space sci-fi flick I saw a few
years ago. The beautiful and radiant alien babe who emerges from a deep sleep
and is suddenly hit on by the pathetic earthling literally gets the life sucked
out of him when he tries to consummate. His life force becomes hers and she gets
strong and stronger until the little terrans are running in terror from her
power while she reigns destruction down on them.
Then again, what sounds a lot like the way Deadly treats Cry-itors...

3. It is a shame that Jungle has the best splash in WOW but no appropriate

describe or I am too dense to come up with them.

I was all ready to add "Super Belly-to-Belly Suplex Off The Top Of Phil's
Head" to the moves list (which I'll send an update for this weekend).
Actually I have added it in, minus the "Off The Top Of Phil's Head"
part, of course.
As far as naming moves go, I don't think we have to go all Joey Styles and name
EVERY single move.
That being said, I am going to be calling JGrrrl's splash the Superfly Splash,
in honour of "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka AND to distinguish how WELL JGrrrl
performs the splash. Well, that and I really hate calling it the "Jungle
Splash" - I can't really explain why, it just doesn't sound right.

capture a still of it. Looks like she's falling down a well, if you ask me. Her
knees are all bent, her purty face is grimmacing and her arms are flailing
trying to stem the impact.
Meanwhile, the grrrl reminds me of a National Geographic wildlife film...
swooping down her prey like a hawk! A thing of majestic beauty and grace that
photographers wait months on end for with absolutely no gaurantee of ever
framing it's glorious essence. WOW could take one of these repeat weeks for the
sole purpose of breaking down the virtues of the Huntress' splash and still
wouldn't have time to do it justice.
I suppose I CAN blindly point and click at one of those free falls the hillbilly
has done, at least for scientific purposes. Just don't ask me to enjoy it.

don't support.
As on here ... I treat JGrrrl with respect & the same fun way my friends
(Real life friends) & I treat one another (We're about the same age). It
will be a lot of diffrent if JGrrrl doesn't except it ... after all, I like to
treat the others the same way I like to be treated. I also think that this
web-board brought us closer to the wrestlers & other fans ... It succeded in
making us truely care.

someone out. I'll add that your professionism and skill disguise any indication
that any one match has been more difficult to pull off than another. From my pov,
every last one of them has been remarkable! But, without naming names, isn't it
human nature that some of your work is easier to do because of the nature of
your relationship with your opponent?
Carrying it further, doesn't the same thing apply to angles and feuds?

I believe you're right. I do not however have any relationships with the ladies outside of WOW. I have one close friend that I associate with and it did feel different working in the ring with her than any of the other girls. It's not that I dislike any of the girls, I just like my privacy and spending my downtime with my honey. I'm sure as the show progresses new friendships will be formed and things might change. As for now, I enjoy the friendships I have and don't really care about the ones I don't have, but that's just me.

( 3 of 13 )It's obviously tougher on your feet to wrestle
barefoot, and most of the ladies are probably too delicate to handle it.
And for the others that are tough enough (i.e. Riot, Danger, Dis, Thug), well,
it doesn't fit their gimmick. Hey, when was the last time you wrecked a car or
put someone through a table barefoot?? Exactly.
I'm trying to think of the current gimmicks that barefoot would work with, and I
came up with this: Beckie, Roxy (maybe), the Bleach Patrol, Paradise and maybe
Terri. Not exactly prime candidates to go barefoot.
Almost at 900 posts. This will easily be the 5th wrestler forum to do so. Good
work, and keep up the quality posts!!

It is harder on the body to wrestle barefooted. It can lead to broken toes and stress fractures, neither which bother me. I like to feel the ground, the ropes, and my prey! Plus, I had to satisfy all you guys with foot fetishes!

to Terri Gold and Roxy Powers going barefoot and it fitting in with their
gimmick.
Terri Gold is supposed to be the Mary Lou Retton all American Olympic Gymnast.
Gymnasts most always perform barefoot or atleast they do in their floor
routines.
Roxy Powers is supposed to be the all around super athlete with martial arts
included. Going barefoot would fit in with her gimmick as well.

1. I'm not friends with Danger, but I have no problem
with her.
2. When I shot the video I did it with no shoes and my feet were very sore the
next day. I got stuck with thorns and stepped on a lot of rocks. The tree part
was a lot of fun, at least there was shade there.
3. We try to get a sense of that persons style in the ring, so that there are no
injuries.
4. I do not have a training partner, but if I were going to Terri would be the
best person. She has the most discipline in that arena, and I respect that.
5. I don't have heat with anyone outside the ring. I certainly wouldn't go at it
with anyone, I'd kill them. I will let someone know if they have rubbed me the
wrong way!
