Grrrrr!!!!! You have touched upon the one thing I almost like as much as JG. The BIG Red Machine, baby! Filth and Foul all you beantowners. Sultan, I used to just feel sorry for you Red Hosers, kind of like the Bad News Bears of the American League. Having the Yankees pick pocket ya's for Babe Ruth, not winning a championship for 98 frigging years.... Billy Buck!!! It must really suck to see the Rocket in pinstripes now, btw. I guess I can still stomach Yaz and Ted Williams, but even our centerfield wall is bigger than that little fence between leftfield and Landsdown street now (I know the name of it because George Foster and Tony Perez kept giving the little kiddies on it souvenirs and Curt Gowdy kept calling it that in between tears).

The next time you see Fenway on Sportscenter, watch for a left field homer over the Green Monster. Notice the gargantuan CITGO sign. Joe Carter used to love Fenway, because he would homer to left, look at the sign, and say "C-IT-GO".

Ahh, Joe Carter. My favourite player before I became disenfranchised with baseball and stopped watching it (I still don't).

I was in downtown Toronto the night he hit the home run that won the World Series for the Jays. Incredible fun, and the next best thing to the Maple Leafs winning the Stanley Cup (which will probably never happen in my lifetime).

Carter was a dead pull hitter. I can see why he might have liked that target.

I can't let a baseball thread go without at least one serious comment. I trully have no beef with the Sox, and in fact would probably list them as my second favorite club in the majors if I had one. The Yankees and their big money can take a flying leap and I would like nothing better than to see Pedro and the boys take the penant from them this year. Nomar going down is a humongous blow and I even hear they might be looking to deal for a ss in the interim. I read Valentin is still out. The pitching is a little thin behind Pedro, unless David Cone enjoys a good season. So, it ain't going to be easy. Wish the animosity wasn't lingering so much in Beantown to this day about my Reds, but I guess that is natural when you lose the greatest world series of all time.

Now, I don't even know if JG is a baseball fan so I'll refrain from any further commentary.

I may be on the extreme end of the scale as far as bad feelings towards former Boston opponents go. Still, I actually loved the Big Red Machine, especially when they beat those despicable Yankees. Ignore any baseball related whining from the Sultan family. When you lose as much as the Sox do, it is easier to imagine fault in proud franchises such as the Yankees or the Reds than it is to admit that you are backing a going-on-84-years loser.
Head for the hills if we ever do win. I was at the 1986 NBA Finals, when the Boston Celtics beat the Rockets or somebody, and there was full-scale rioting on Causeway Street. I personally was in a mob that almost tipped over the limo of CBS/Laker-Lover/traitor Dick Stockton. I also swear to the fact that a truck was driving through the streets handing out bottles of whiskey to the tumultuous assembly of rowdy Irish drunks. I saw beatings that were the envy of the St. Patrick's Day Parade revelers. Girls were grabbed off the stage at normally well-mannered Combat Zone establishments and literally hurled into the crowds of hooligans, where they were forced to fend for their very dignity. All in all, it was a good-natured destruction of Downtown Boston.
Detroit fans are now saying, "Man, that Sultan is a wuss. We burn down half the city if the Tigers sweep a doubleheader". What they are failing to realize is that up until Larry got old, the Celtics won the title All The Time. Red Auerbach would have to mutate a 3rd arm, and engage in what the French would call "Le Ring de Coq", if he wanted to wear all his NBA Championship Rings. rings at once. Imagine these same people if the Sox won the whole Salami.
Picture an ex-con, finally free after a dreadfully long sentence. He's walking to his never-before-seen children's house, when the WOW tour bus picks him up. Once on board, he swallows 45 Viagras. These kick in as, before him, all at once, Lana struts around in her contest-winning bikini, Sandy emerges from the splendidly-necessary WOW Bus Hot Tub, and Caliente' practices the Head Scissors on Randi Rah Rah. Imagine this ex-con's longing state of mind, and the mayhem he could soon create. Multiply it by 50, and you have a Sox/Series Winning Hooligan.
Destroying Boston may not be enough. Citezens of Nashua, New Hampshire will be fleeing town like Bosnians as waves of Lunatics advance up Rte 3, destroying all in sight. In Hell, even Atilla the Hun is averting his eyes from the telly. Fortunately, it will probably not happen for manny, manny years. The Suffering will continue for the Fellowship of the Miserable.

You know, Starv. I don't want to make a scene or anything, which is why I am tucking this away behind Sultan's version of Baseball Tonight. But, not only did your girl dis JG today on her forum, she went on that radio show and completely ignored beastess when talking about workers AND when running down the other girls in the fed (at least by TRF's account). I am starting to surmise that April doesn't have much respect for Erica's skills in the ring. That doesn't exactly endear me to Riot, ya know?

I didn't listen to it (I'm really bad at remembering to listen to live internet audio stuff, plus I was watching the Usual Suspects on DVD... priorities...), but I DO recall Riot saying that she hangs with/gets along with Vendetta, Danger (seriously) and EZ Rider (so either they aren't friends anymore, or the "Sunset Blvd" thing was a rib).

No props, or real disses from Riot on JG. Other than that, it doesn't look like the hosts mentioned Jungle Grrrl either. I can't give a real definitive opinion until I get around to listening to it.

No matter, remember that Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels HATED each other, yet still put on some amazing matches together.

BTW, I appreciate reports like that. If JG does this interview on the guy's radio station I hope that someone steps up and gives us a rundown of what she says as well.

Riot doesn't have the intellect to put together a "putdown" session. Besides, she enjoys talking about what Riot likes and knows, herself. I welcome the controversy and insults. The more heat you bring on, the harder I will bring you down. The only way to get that old washed up "wrestler" known as the Ultimate warrior into WOW would be to disguise him as something he already is: A Goon.

I don't know if it was ever done before but I had never ever seen it done.

When the Opponent is standing on the ropes, the Grrrl run and jump to her grabbing the opponent from the shoulder & bending her knees to put her foot in the opponent stomeque and jump backwards giving her oponent a back slam.

I don't know if u could imagine what I'm writting or not but I wish u could.

It could be called The Deadly Hunt or something like that.

A top-rope monkey flip?? Hasn't been done on this side of the ocean, as far as I know.

It's possible, but the person performing the move could really get hurt doing it if they don't roll right - or roll at all - on the descent. It's cool and all to see a brand new move, but safety first and foremost.

So you're right, Scorp, second rope is safer - there's much less of a drop to absorb for whoever performs the move.

I'd like to see someone do that move Loki does - cartwheel into an enziguiri, with the opponent sitting on the top turnbuckle. It's incredible to see.

I have been wondering why she is not rated as high as you. NOT only that, she also won a handicap match.
Also,I was wondering, if your not interested in fighting Slam one on one, how would you feel about a fatal fourway, with you Riot, Terri Bronze(the soon to be ex-WOW champ, once Slam gets to her), and of course, the best of all of WOW, and the uncrowned champion, Slam Dunk? Would you go for that? This will not be any over the top rumble match either.

To paraphrase from Office Space, um, yeah. I'm gonna have to disagree with you on that one.

I doubt Dunk could even beat the Chipmunk, after the Chipmunk's gets a mass beatdown from JG, Danger, RIOT~!, Thug and Selina.

Here's what Slam needs to do to become a playa:
- Get some muscle mass. None of the topp wrestlers are intimidated by a 6'2" string bean.
- Learn to wrestle. Unless your name iss Hogan, and it's the 80's, you're not going to get very far if you don't know how to do this.
- Learn to sell some moves. This is Terrri Gold's saving grace - she gets beat up real good.
- Continue to improve the promos. At leeast Slam does something decent. But it still needs work. Listen to Danger, Riot, and Thug to learn how to be an effective speaker.

DS, I didn't even bother to get his name. But, he was acting as if this were an episode of Sex Bytes or some'm, and dissing our grrrl. I don't know if he intended to or not. Either he was engaged in something that wouldn't be appropriate in the presence of adolecents at the time or he was stirring the pot. Either way, Mike came to the rescue and preserved the pristine environment of the jungle and I couldn't be more reassured that someone is finally in charge with a sense of what is and what is not respectful.

Technicalities

I have been watching wrestling for quite a while now, and only just recently found out about WOW. While I was not initially impressed, I must confess that about the only thing that kept me watching was Jungle Grrrl. Keep in mind, it's not because of the way she looks or her impressive finisher, but her actual mat skills. If you watch closely, you'll notice a very professional amount of push to each power move, a rapid flow of action, and a fine combination of power and stealth that reminds me of my personal favorite technical master, Chris Benoit (if you hate him, that's your prerogative). Let the simpleton's be satisfied with Beckie's 450 splash, since they obviously don't see that her mat skills need SERIOUS work. Jungle Grrrl has some serious stuff both above and below the top rope.

You got that right. JG's the best technical wrestler in the fed and even her critics realize it. Great post! Now, hurry on over to DS's Yahoo club and become a Hunter .

Keep watching the reruns, Ben. A Phantom match should be coming up and I daresay that she had the best psychology out of all the wrestlers in WOW. I wouldn't say that she was the best, technically speaking, but she had so much potential - I'd say she was destined for the upper card with the way Lee and McLane were pushing her - and it's unfortunate that she quit WOW.

The Michinokou Special II (Jungle Driver, Juvi Driver, Nail in the Coffin, etc.) isn't JG's finisher, it's one of her Five Moves of Doom~!, which set up the splash.

Speaking of splashes, how cool a visual would it be for Boomer to do a top rope senton bomb??
(Note: The Swanton/Seanton is a somersault senton. The senton is when you splash a guy with your back, and it looks d@mn cool). I don't recommend it for JG since the splash is perfect - it's saying: I killed you, now I'm claiming you carcass as a trophy.

Two suggestions: Falcon Arrow (Hollycaust) and the WhipLash. Both are perfect compliments to your current moveset.

I wish that were true. The fact is that there are tons of moves being used over in Japan that haven't been used here ever. Which is why Riot's Twister was a shock, because I had never seen, or heard of a top rope corkscrew elbow being used before.

But generally speaking, I don't worry about whether a move has been used before. More important is a) can it be done safely, and b) can the wrestler(s) make it look effective. Inventiveness is cool, but not to the point where you literally kill your opponent.

You know, Slam Dunk was so stupid. If she read the wrestling rulebook and looked up 'Strap Matches', she would have seen the following:

Strap Match
Stipulation: Touch all four corners consecutively to win
Notes: Designated 'Heel' will always lose match to designated 'Face' in the following manner:
- Heel will touch corners as stated in rules
- Heel will not notice face touching coorners
behind heel
- Face will disrupt heel's progress immmediately
before heel touches forth corner
- Face will touch fourth corner themsellves, thus
winning match
Exception: see Hogan, Hollywood

What this tells me is threefold:
1) Slam can't read.
2) Slam talks the talk, but can't walk the walk.
3) Slam lost, and it doesn't matter how. If you wanna whine about that, I'll play the world's smallest violin for ya.

Granted, Slam still hasn't been pinned, but then, neither has Riot. Or Nikki Law, Kristi Order, Phantom, and Misery. And to her credit, Slam HAS improved, and her opponents have figured out that jumping for the chokedrop makes it look better, but she still leans towards the side of sucktitude.

I'm so tempted to join in, but lately I've developed a genuine respect for the Superior Athlete. So I'll try diplomacy. For starters, Jack P. Miller is a mark, not a smart fan. He's a Baller version of Lana Star mark int1776/Jim.

Like starvenger says, in this thread and the very same one in Riot's forum, she still needs work. The only reason why she hasn't lost is because McLane booked her to be so. Whether you want to believe it or not, her winning streak is solely due to McLane's horrid booking than her actual limited talent. Slam still needs more work before she can represent WOW as a title holder.

As far as win-loss records go, they don't mean Jack! I have seen matches in which an athlete with bad win-loss record beating an athlete who has never lost a match. Andre the Giant was undefeated for 15 years, yet he has never won a singles title. Why? Because the promoters didn't want him to, for some reason. His undefeated streak was broken when he challenged Hulk Hogan for the WWF Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 3. Triple H had an undefeated streak until he job to then WWF Heavyweight Champion Bret Hart. As far as the history of wrestling goes, no undefeated wrestler has ever won a belt. Every single title holder has had a loss record. So until you can prove me wrong, the idea that a wrestler should have a title shot just because she's unbeaten is ridiculous.

Slam's undefeated. That means nothing in wrestling. If Andre can go for 15 years undefeated without a title, Slam can definitely last one year undefeated without one. The fact is, McLane wouldn't dare book Slam against Jungle Grrrl, Riot, Danger or Terri Gold. Because he doesn't want her to job. And mind you she will. It happened to Andre and Triple H, so it can happen to Slam. It's an age-old practice called "jobber to the stars". What Andre and HHH did was job to the stars, who were Hogan and Hart respectively. Slam's gimmick is that she's undefeated, which has been recently converted to 'unpinned in singles competition'. And the best way for her to play out that gimmick is to beat the jobbers. McLane won't book her over Terri, Jungle, Riot or Danger. Because the fans, especially the smart ones, wouldn't buy it.

So, Jack! Read, meditate, then appreciate. If you still want to run your mouth for Slam's title shot, come up with a better excuse other than her being undefeated.

I have to jump in on this topic,
First of all, I've seen this jack. P. Miller guy post alot about Slam Dunk, I think he's her only fan!! but anyway he been saying thats she's the uncrown champion and how she's the best looking wrestler in WOW. Now yes everyone is entitled to thre own opionin but get real man, Slam Dunk SUCKS!!!!!
First of all she can't wrestle that good, she needs alot of improvement, now yes she is tall and thats a huge disadvantage for her, most of the girls are small so she can't ever do good moves on them.
Now she does have good mic skills and she brings attitude to the ring, so that part is ok.
But as far as her being the uncrown champ, how the hell you figure?????? Slam has never wrestle any on the top contenders and to me she haven't proven herself at all.
I remember her putting her foot on the ropes to beat roxy in one match, wow thats really proving you can win cleanly!!!!!
If Slam wants to be even consider as a top contender she needs to fight either jungle grrl, riot, danger, selina, thug, or becky.

Consider another age-old tradition that black wrestlers seldom win titles, let alone having long reigns. Why would anyone, other than Jack P. Miller, want to see Slam wear the belt? She's black, and black wrestlers almost always have to job to the stars. When it comes to ethnic minorities, why is it that asian and latino wrestlers get put over instead of black wrestlers? Black wrestlers can't carry a match as good as their ethnic counterparts. Yes, don't hate the player, hate the game. Speaking of which...

Booker T didn't invent that line. It probably originated from some hoochie of Afro descent. So don't try to impress us with your "knowledge" of African-American culture by dishing quotations from noted personalities. You're just a megaphone. And megaphones are only good for one thing, but they don't have any brains.

Now, in defense of the "ethnic" controversy, The Rock is black and Simoan and happens to be the WWF's champion, so I don't think that has anything to do with the fact that I would kick Slam's ass, and slam her ass on the ground I would. But, dreaming is good Jack, dreaming is good!

Thanks for the head-ups, Huntress. I hope you can see that my 'heat' post is just a work, not a shoot. It's one thing to support your favorite wrestler. But to show up in another forum and stir up trouble without the mental capacity to sell your mark makes you, as Slam Dunk puts it, a hater.

A word of advice, Jack (if you do see this), read TofuNinja's "To the Haters" post in Slam Dunk's forum. Read and understand. It doesn't only apply to Slam's conference, but to any conference you visit.

And Jungle Grrrl may just have to be the agressor and take matters into her own hands and FORCE Riot's to notice her. It seems like that's the only way you seem to get a title shot in WOW - just do and ask questions later.

X, they just keep chatting up that forum with adolescent kiddie book questions for Riot and complaints about the Dawgs, totally oblivious to the tropical huricane that is just about ready hammer destroy their icon. We're trying to do them a favor, but except for Starvinger they seem to be in their own little foggy world. I hate to see history repeat itself, but it's kind of like Pompeii. 

Starvenger strikes back with a good post. Lagoonbug is a devout and highly regarded Rioter as well, and once this is over you never know that we might have to pile up on the Dawgs one day. JG/Riot is starving for heat, though, especially in her forum where everyone seems obsessed with a feud that's apparently going to have to wait.

I don't know what's going on with the club. DS is doing a great job setting it up, but apparently all of Beastess' fans you see at the forum are 'puter-less .
