Where Did Those 5 Months Go?

Its been nearly half a year since our last update. If you didn't read on the main page, we need a new vocalist. If you are up to the job, please let us know so we can drag you into our little studio and run you through some songs. Thats about all. Most news is on the main page so check it out.

PTC3 Photos Now Available

If you check out the Live Photos section of this site you will find the Popping the Cherry 3 photos. They are pretty good methinks but go check it out for yaself. Two pages of the mofos. I also updated a few of the other pages, like the Gigs section, but thats not really important. Thanks to Bill for being our trusty photographer once again. Oh and while on the subject, I nearly forgot to thank the other bands for running us really late, that was just really fucking great. Oh well I guess we did it at PTC2.

Yoof Week

I heard from a reliable source that we are playing for Youth Week this year. Apparently its sometime in April, which I'm sure it was last year when Skunkhour or some dohickey band played. In my opinion, your general Orange or Dubbo band beats the crap out of some panzi ass alternative slash aussie bogan rock band. Anyway, more information on that shit when I get it. All I have heard so far is "We are playing at Youth Week in April". Fair enough I say.

Phucking PTC3 Photo Delay

Sorry about the shitload of fucking time its taking me to get the photos up. I have been doing it but I swear its gonna take a fricking month before its completely done to satisfaction. Actually, expect them up in a couple of days. There will be more than one page of photos this time, and I have also needed to make smaller versions of the photos which can be enlarged. That way it doesn't take all year to load the goddam thing. Anyway, you'll all figure that shit out when its done, so I personally apologise to Ash or whoever else is expecting the photos to be up by now, you should all realise I'm a lazy bitch.

PTC3 Photos Coming Soon

Yesterday we played at the Red Cross Hall in Orange to a crowd of diehard metal heads...among the underaged drunks. The day was quite a success I would say, apart from the cops coming and stealing alcohol of little kiddies.

We were the last band to play with late addition Skanc'n 24-7 and Varacity playing before us. We played about an hour or so later than expected due to certain bands not sticking to 30 minute sets. Overall, Pentagrae didn't play too badly with only a few minor fuckups. Our setlist was something as follows:

  • Revolutionary
  • Cunt Struck
  • Reality?
  • Ode to the Redneck Part 2
  • D*k-Wid
  • Pungent Stench
  • (some song, forgot the name)
  • Slave New World (Sepultura Cover) (Guest Drummer: Rimmer)
    --------------
  • Fall On (Cryogenic Cover) (Guest Vox: Nelso (Decyphen), Oli (Anxiety Whispers), Guest Drummer: Rimmer)

And that was our set as you see it. The final song of our set was Sepultura's 'Slave New World' with guest drummer, Rimmer from the former metal band 'Mandan'. After that song Rimmer (Drums), Hingo (Guitar), Nelso (Vocals) and Oli (Vocals) decided to play one more unrehearsed cover by Aussie metal band Cryogenic. Quite a good fucking night I must say.

Photos of the night will be available soon on this website. Keep a lookout for them.

Recording?

As it turns out, our plans to record a demo this week may have to be postponed. We are still very eager to get our shit on CD so we will keep up to date on the latest news to do with that. We also plan on playing a couple more gigs within the next few months that will be organised by Pentagrae and a few other people.

2 days to go!

Only 2 days to go until we play at Orange's biggest (only?) music festival, Popping the Cherry 3! As you all probably know, we have been asked to return to Popping the Cherry after playing at the last 2, and this time we are headlining!

We have been revising our setlist and have a total of 6 new heavy and crazy songs for you all to enjoy. We may also have a special guest appearing in our set, but wait and see.

Here is the final list of bands and the times they are playing at:

10:00pm Pentagrae
9:20pm Varacity
8:40pm Blacklisted
8:00pm 2 Days Late
7:20pm Decyphen
6:40pm Nubian
6:00pm Incursion
5:20pm Undertow
4:40pm Insufficient Grace
4:00pm Starry's Brother's Band (name??)

Recording Process

We have planned to record a demo next week at a local studio. This demo will include most if not all of our songs from PTC3 so, if you like how we played at PTC2 or PTC3 then expect to hear that material on our demo. The songs will also be available for download in the near future.

Pentagrae in Newspaper

Pentagrae will be doing an interview with the Central Western Daily newspaper this Wednesday discussing Popping the Cherry 3 and other such related things. I don't know what day we will be in the paper, but you'd better god damn buy it or we will do horrible things to your face.

Recording

We have decided to wait until after PTC3 before we start recording our demo. That is all.

PTC3 Update

We are playing at PTC3 in less than 2 weeks. Supposedly we are the headlining band but there has been no time schedule yet so I could be very wrong, but one thing we do know is that we will be appearing in one way or another.

PTC3 Tickets Now on Sale!

PTC3 is finally confirmed but the time list of bands isn't yet confirmed. Tickets are now on sale at Modz fashion on Summer Street. The tickets are limited and because of this will be selling fast so go down to modz and buy a ticket now. Since the time slots aren't decided yet, we can't say much, but we can tell you that Pentagrae will be headlining and I think Varacity is before us. The list of bands playing are as follows in no particular order:

  • Pentagrae
  • Varacity
  • Blacklisted
  • Incursion
  • Decyphen
  • Two Days Late
  • Nubian
  • Undertow
  • 88

So with this lineup it should surely go off, with a good mix of metal and punk bands as usual. We will have some new material for this gig which should really fucking rock out. We may also have our CD recorded by then so we may give away a few copies. We should be going into the studio in the next few days to begin recording a demo. Keep you posted.
