HELPFUL HINTS FROM YOUR FRIENDLY TEACHER

Teachers like to mention discrete hints for tests and exams during class. These hints usually have substantial meaning on evaluations since teachers have to put some tough questions on their tests (to prove to the other teachers that they aren't too easy on their students).

Yet at the same time, the teacher knows that he/she hasn't taught the material well enough for the students to answer the question correctly. As a result, these hints are very important to get a good mark on an evaluation.

The key is to recognize the teacher's helpful hints:

  • If the teacher goes over particular questions the day before a test, it is very likely that a similar question will be on the test.

  • Note any facts that a teacher underlines in his/her notes on the blackboard.

  • If the class had difficulty with a particular question, a similar question will be on the test.

  • Do the review questions assigned. Most students won't bother doing them and teachers know that.

Lazy teachers also like to copy questions straight out of the text book since they already have the answers in their teacher manuals which happen to be sometimes available at some online bookstores :)
