PICKING THE RIGHT UNIVERSITY FOR YOU
Considering the huge expenses associated with obtaining an university education, it is very important to do your homework before choosing a university. In addition, it important to have at least two choices (preferably three or four) due to limited enrolment in certain programs. After all, you don't want to find out that you were rejected to your only choice, and are now left hanging after all the application deadlines have passed.
It is
best to start looking early (at least a year and a half before
graduation). Go to your High School's Guidance Office and look at the
university brochures. Pay close attention to Open Houses that are
usually available in October and during March Break. The earlier you start,
the fewer headaches you'll have when it comes time for
applying.
STEP 1
Before looking at universities, you must have an idea of what your career goals are. Do you want to be a doctor, engineer, accountant, lawyer, etc.
STEP 2
Visit your school's
Guidance Office, and refer to a few university pamphlets.
After you have an idea of
what to expect, visit
the RADS for tips and
links to all of Canada's universities.
