Upper Lake is the jumping off point for the northen wilderness area
of Lake County including Mendicino National Forest and Lake Pillsbury. It
also hosts the "1858 Wild West Days" festival and parade.
To the West of Upper Lake you'll find Blue Lakes (there are two of
them - an upper and lower lake seperated by a narrows), an old-time resort
area of deep, clear, mountain lakes for fishing and swimming. It's a real
friendly down-home place with big trees and mountains right down to the shore.
