way to be considered to be official VTA information. This page is intended to briefly describe Transit Operations at Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). Maintenance Made up of several different parts. Responsible for maintaining the
facilities and equipment owned by VTACentral Maintenance Responible for maintenance of the physical facilities as well as engineering for new equipment.
Light Rail Maintence This includes the vehicles and Power and Way maintenance. Overhaul and Repair
Located at Cerone Yard: Does major repairs and overhaul of equipment. Also responsible for inspecting new equipment. North Maintenance
Maintains the buses operating out of North Yard. This includes minor maintenance, fueling and cleaning of the buses. Cerone Maintenance
Maintains the buses operating out of Cerone Yard. This includes minor maintenance, fueling and cleaning of the buses. Chaboya Maintenance
Maintains the buses operating out of Chaboya Yard. This includes minor maintenance, fueling and cleaning of the buses.
Operations Responsible for the on road operations of the
buses and Light Rail.Light Rail Operations
Responsible for rail operations. Also under Light Rail ops are the on-road supervisors and the radio control, both bus and OCC. North Operations
Responsible for dispatching the buses and operators out of North Yard. Cerone Operations
Responsible for dispatching the buses and operators out of Cerone Yard. Chaboya Operations
Responsible for dispatching the buses and operators out of Chaboya Yard. Protective Services
Responsible for on road and site security for VTA buses, Light Rail and Facilities. Also responsible for Fare Inspectors and
transport of revenue. Service and Operations Planning
