Daggerfall Main | Magic | Schools of Magic | Quests | Custom Classes | Favorite Cities | Hand-crafted Dungeons | Known Bugs
Within the game, there are two types of dungeons: randomly generated dungeons, marked with a red dot on the "Fast Travel" map, and hand-crafted dungeons, marked with an orange dot on the "Fast Travel" map. This page lists how to get from the entrance of the dungeon to the main quest item. Understand that if you just go through this (fighting the baduns, of course), you will miss most of the dungeon.
Here are the general sections within this page; you can click on them or just scroll down. After each section is a "To Top" button to bring you back up here.
Privateer's Hold | The Fortress of Gaersmith | The Castle of Copperfield | Andynak Laboratory | The Hold of Hawkcroft
Gondyrick Laboratory | The Elyzyssa Council | The Coven of Elyzyn | Hearthham's Hold | Baaluchex's Den
Kinghart's Hold | The Dungeon of Tristane
New! Try the map below; click on one of the orange (or reddish-orange) dots (that should be pulsating) to move to the solution!
This is the "bunny dungeon" that you started in, in the NW part of Daggerfall. The monster (or the object of your quest) is always in the cave where you first started.
[To Do: Fill in NSEW directions from dungeon entrance to quest]
This dungeon is in the NW part of Daggerfall, ENE of Privateer's Hold.
Needed: Levitate. Helpful: Invisibility.
1st left into room, secret door straight ahead (look at overhead map to see). Go down one flight of stairs, open door, you are on a platform. To your right is a doorway with no ledge up to it. Cast levitate, crouch, then go over to the doorway (you are hit with some kind of energy bolt if you do not crouch). Go right into the door, there is the object of your quest.

I have had the object of the quest not be in that room, but I could not find it anywhere else.
This dungeon is in the SW part of Daggerfall (between Oxway and Whitewood Borough).
Needed: Levitate. Helpful: Invisibility
This dungeon has a ramp, much like Privateer's Hold. However, at the top of the ramp is a ledge way up on the wall. By levitating (or climbing?) you can reach it. Turn R, go past door on left, and the door on the R holds the object of your quest. You are getting close when the floor becomes wooden. If you are trying to kill a mage, the will be behind the double curtains (you can see their feet, but cannot hurt them until you open the curtains).

This dungeon is in the right middle side of Daggerfall.
Needed: Levitate. Helpful: Invisibility, Water Walking, Water Breathing.
You start at a N/E corner. Go E, turn N at the 3-way, N at the 4-way, turn E past the door (N), continue E past 3-way, kill the bad guys in the water and jump in near where you entered (on the W side). Just to the S of the door in is an underwater passage. Crouch and go through; I had no bad guys in here. Get back out of the water, go through the E (only) door, continue E to the "window." This is difficult; I had to levitate, crouch and un-crouch and eventually it let me through. Once through, turn S past the door, and then into the room S (through the "locked" door). After killing the guard, the inner room has the person you are looking for, and they hit you with both barrels!
This dungeon is somewhere in Daggerfall.
Needed: none. Helpful: Invisibility
From the start, go N, turn W at the 3-way, go E past door, go N past door, continue N through door, and then turn W after the door. Turn E at the 3-way, turn E at the 3-way (again), continue E through the door, go N past door, continue W through 3-way. After the door, go S, go W through 4-way, continue N at 3-way, turn N (NE?) at the 3-way (and around the stalactite), continue W through the 4-way, go into the 1st door on the R (N), which is "locked." After killing the guard, the inner room has the person you are looking for.
I never finished this dungeon. It has a "trap" treasure, where you look at the treasure and you are teleported to another part of the dungeon. I also found some secret doors (looking at the map), don't know if they were significant.
I never finished this dungeon. It has some floor holes (you can jump, slowfall, or levitate down), and has some pits with monsters in them. To kill them, cast some spells, or jump in and start whacking; when done, climb out.
This dungeon is in the eastern part of Daggerfall, almost between Longtown and Mercester.
Needed: Levitate, some Area affect damage spell (quest object was stuck in statue)
The start is on the S wall. There is a loop at the beginning, depending on your spell abilities.
(1) Go N a little, and jump down into the large "pit." Go W until you get around the ramp, and through the N door. Follow this around until you go S through a door, and at the 3-way, turn E.
(2) Go N a little, and levitate across the "pit" to the ledge directly on the other side. Go S, go in the first door on the R (S), at the 3-way, turn E.
Either way, you are now presented with a pit that is 3 stories down. Do NOT go down! Either levitate across or ??. At the first door on your L (will be S), go through. Turn W at the 3-way, you will be on a ledge in a huge room. Levitate or slowfall down, but do not go into the center pit. Near the W door I found the quest object stuck in a statue; I only found it because my invisibility wore off and it started making noises.
This dungeon is somewhere in Daggerfall [To Do: where is it?]
You start at a N & E corner. Go E, turn N at the 3-way, turn N at the next 3-way, go N through the door, and then turn E after the door. Go through the open bars you see, go E through the door, continue N past the door. You are in the final passageway now, continue until you find the person / beast you are to kill.
This dungeon is a little E of the center of Daggerfall.
Needed: Levitate, Water Walk / Water Breathe. Helpful: Invisibility.
You start in a room with one door to a larger room, this room has a hole in the floor. Drop down through the floor, past the next lower level (it only has some treasure) to the second level; you will end up in some water. The only exit now is N, turn W at the 3-way, then up after lowering the elevator. Go to the next elevator, move it down, and levitate up. At the 4-way, turn E, then S at the 3-way, E at the next 3-way, and finally E at the 3-way (you are going around a round corner here). Go through the door, N at the 3-way, then N past the E door. After the next door, turn E, then W to go through the next door, and then turn S. Go through the S door. Go down through the hole in the floor here (levitate? I just jumped). After the door out, turn N through another door. In this room, go out through the W door (not the floor hole), drop down the hole in the floor here, and then turn W, S, and W. Continue W, go through the door, turn S, and you will be at a swimming pool. (Whew!)
Go out the S door; after the door, turn W, W, and continue W past the 3-way. Continue E past the next 3-way, then turn S (don't go in the door), and turn W at the 4-way. The next W door is the object of your quest.
Here's something fun -- look at your automap now. You are almost back at the beginning of the dungeon -- if you could only walk through a few walls!
This dungeon is just NE of the center of Daggerfall.
Needed: . Helpful: .
Start in a room with a bad guy just outside the room (aagh!). Go W out of the room, turn S after the door. Continue S at the 3-way, at the end of the hall is a secret door (I think). After the door, turn E, then turn S at the 3-way, go past the door. Go through some doors, continue E at the next 3-way (past the door), turn E through the next door, and continue E after the door at the 3-way. Turn S, S through the next door, and continue S after the door. After another door, continue N. Turn W at the 4-way, and the first door on the R (N) has your quest object!
This dungeon is just a little SE of the middle of Daggerfall.
You start in a room with a door E. Then you walk to the quest object! [to do: fill this in]
