Pokémon, the journey's just begun,
Pokémon, it's your adventure,

Pokémon, we're friends forever!
You've got the power, right in your hand.
They evolve before your eyes.
A world of magic at your command,
you can be a master if you try!
Pokémon!
That's on the CD.. which is groovy, BTW.

Main theme
I wanna be, the very best,
like no one ever was.
To catch them is my real test.
To train them is my cause.
I will travel across the land, searching far and wide.
Each of Pokémon, to understand,

(Pokémon, gotta catch 'em all) It's you and me,
I know it's my destiny.
(Pokémon) Oh, you're my best friend in a world we must defend.
(Pokémon, gotta catch 'em all) To see the truth,
Our courage will pull us through.
You teach me and I'll teach you.
Pokémon!
(Gotta catch 'em all) Gotta catch 'em all!
Pokémon!

THE SECRET TO CATCHING MISSINGNO! Okay, first, go to Cinnibar Island. Trade with one of the people (Venonat for Tangela, Raichu for Electrode, or Ponyta for Seel), then go to the east side of the island. Use SURF, and SURF ONLY along the east edge of the island. You'll find a level 80 Missingno! Don't worry-it's got very weak defense and it's Water Gun is weak. However, when it begins to Glow, watch out. Sky Attack is nothing to laugh at. Also, the 6th item on your list will grow to about 130 (it'll be a blur). I know it's about that high 'cuz I sold a lot of the item and became rich! $_$ ;) Watch out.. although _MY_ game still works fine, I've heard this code may screw up your Game Boy Game.
This is untested, but here might be the secret to catching Yoshi. First, get yourself a Dratini. Trade it with a friend via the link cable, and have your friend pull Dratini up to Dragonite (hey, what are friends for but doing the hard jobs?). Get back yer Dragonite (with some of your friend's whining about how he/she/it worked so hard to get it to level 55), and go to Lavender Town. Rename it to Yoshi, and.. poof! MasterVaporeon tells me it's false.. shall we believe her, folks? ;)
The biggest rumor about Mew is ALSO untested by me. If this works, e-mail me. First, trade with a friend for a Pokémon who has CUT (what a nice pal you must have). You can either skip S.S. Anne or go on and defeat the trainers for XP, Money, and items, but whatever you do, don't talk to the captain. Continue the game, and get HM 03 and HM 04, SURF and STRENGTH. Go back to Vermillian City, and get HM 01 from the captain. As the ship leaves, quickly use SURF and SURF out of the screen. Use STRENGTH to move the truck you see there, and you'll find Mew.. or some junk like that. MasterVaporeon also thinks this is false, along with half the internet. :P
Here's a Mew submission for the Game Genie, sent in by FireClaw !
You will need:
-A GameGenie
-A red version of Pokémon
-Having visited Cerulean City (or at least completed Mt. Moon)
I'm not sure if it does work in the Game Boy, but it sure does
work in the emulated rom (I'm sending you a picture of my very
own Mew). First, get an emulator with GameGenie, and then enter
the following codes:
151-91A-7FC
151-93A-F7E
151-9BA-5DB
Remeber that you must do everything in the red version if you
want it to work. After you've done that, go to the grassy area
at the west of Cerulean City. Soon a Mew will come out. Catch it
quickly, before it uses Transform and changes into a Ditto.
After that, there ya go! You'll have your own Mew! Kool, isn't it? ;)
The Master Ball is usually the best to use on Mewtwo, in the Unknown Dungeon.
Bug Pokémon round out to be the weakest of all Pokémon. They are only strong against plant and psychic types, but not really. ;) See, there are only two bug attacks-Leech Life and Pin Missile. Pin Missile is weak, and Leech Life can only be used by a few Pokémon, and those ones that do usually are part poison and get thrown around by Psychic. Owch. Weaknesses to Poison and Fire don't help, and they usually don't have very impressive stats.
Eevee can turn into three different Pokémon-With the useage of a fire stone,
it turns into Flareon, with the using of a thunder stone, it becomes
Jolteon, and with the power of the water stone, it becomes a Vaporeon.
Clefairy, Nidorino, Nidorina, and Jigglypuff are the only ones who can use the Moon Stone.
The easiest idea is to level up one Pokémon to many levels above the rest.
The funnest idea is to level up one group (6) of Pokémon equally, and the
hardest idea is to level all Pokémon you catch up. The last is the easiest
way to catch all 150.
Wigglytuff is the one Pokémon that can use the most techniques through TMs and
HMs... not including Mew, of course.
Note that swift hits Pokémon even after they've used Dig or Fly.
Magikarp is the worse Pokémon, however, it evolves into one of the greatest
of them all, the Gyrados, on level 20. I advise using the day care guy for this.
The easiest way to catch an Abra is to level up your Jigglypuff Wigglytuff, or other Pokémon with Sing, Lovely Kiss, Sleep Powder, or Hypnosis,
to a high level, and then quickly use the sleep attack on the Abra before it
escapes.
After beating the game, you can go and beat the Elite Four again for good XP and lots of money!
When you trade a Pokémon with a trainer *in the game*, the exact level of
the Pokémon you have will be the same level of the Pokémon you trade for.
(example: You trade a level 13 Abra, and get a level 13 Mr. Mime)
While the Good Rod catches high level Pokémon, the Super Rod still can
catch some the Good Rod can't. The Old Rod catches level 5 Magikarp. Hooray.
While on a Pokémon that used SURF, you can fight level 5, 10, 15, 20, 25,
30, or 35 Tentacool near the Cinnibar Islands.
Kangaskhan is actually quite easily caught. He's most common behind the second rest house, in Area 2. Throw a Safari Ball immediatly everytime you see him. After about 20 minutes, you should have Kangaskhan.
Throughout the game, save a TM or two that's not physical. For example, if none of your Pokémon can use Bubblebeam *given to you from Misty*, save it. Chansey has a LOT of special power, but its attack is about equal to a Magikarp's! Also, Chansey and counter is VERY good. Note that Chansey takes a *LOT* of damage every turn, since it has awful defense and high HP, so it'll take a lot of damage every turn. However, it can strike back and do double that-supposing it survives! This can knock out almost anyone.
The less evolved the Pokémon, the quicker it learns attacks. For example, Dratini evolved into Dragonair, and Dragonair evolves into Dragonite. Dratini learns Hyper Beam on level 50, Dragonair learns it on level 55, and Dragonite has to wait for 60. Use this to your advantage!
In the blue version, Magmar is actually quite common on the third floor of the abandoned building.
Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo. That should be your order of catching the rare Pokémon. Trust me. Please.
In battle, the Pokéflute awakens sleeping Pokémon! This means both yours AND the enemy's, so be careful!
If you use a stone to evolve a Pokémon, it will not be able to learn any new attacks, with the exception of Eevee.
Here's a nice list of all the Pokémon! I don't want to cut and paste and steal
someone else's hard work, so I will be creating this list of nothing but
help from Pokémon Power, so not all will be there. :) Wait, Pokémon Power
IS someone elses hard work... doi! Anyway, i also used the Pokédex, from
the game..you know, Pokémon?
