The Depot: 1841: Ordering Information

1841 is a reissue of Federico Vellani's 1839 Northern Italy gamekit. The game has been registered with Francis Tresham and is released with his permission, it was renamed because 1839 had already been allocated. The gamekit from Federico has been out of print for a while so I have obtained permission from him to produce a new version of the gamekit.
This is one of the more complex and larger 18xx games around, this is not necessarily due to a complicated ruleset but more due to the fact you as a player have more options and therefore have more things to get right (or wrong!). There are lots of new concepts and rules such as:
- Major and Minor Corporations (note, Minors are not 1835 equivalents).
- Historical and Non-Historical Corporations (there are 24 Corporations!).
- Start Location & Number of Tokens are determined by the Player at launch.
- Corporations have a Financial step during their Operating Round, they can
- Buy and Sell Shares in other Corporations.
- Launch new Corporations!
- Merge with other Corporations.
- Transform from a Minor to a Major Corporation.
- Country Borders on the map effect Tile and Token lays.
- Terrain include Hills, Appennine Passes and Alpine Passes.
This is one of the best 'large' 18xx games around, it has a lot of new and workable ideas incorporated, the rulebook is well written and gives plenty of examples. Gameplay requires constant attention otherwise a winning early/mid game position can come unstuck.
The gamekit is a complete home-brewed production, if you have seen Chris's other gamekits (1876/Trinidad or 1899/China) you will have an idea of what they comprise of. They compare with the commercially available 18xx games in quality and I am sure there are no other 18xx gamekits that approach the price and quality Chris offers.
The gamekit comprises of:
- 24" by 24" full colour Map (on 160 gram card)
- 12" by 16" full colour Stock Market Chart (on 160 gram card)
- Company Charters, Shares and Tokens (on 160 gram coloured card)
- Tiles and Trains (on 160 gram card)
- Money (on 80 gram paper)
- 24 page Rulebook
As this is a gamekit, you will be required to cut out the components. It comes boxed (A4 bookcase size 2" high) and include ziploc bags and other such components.
