Alcove
Map 4. A very tight tunnel leads East to the Plover Room on the way to the Dark Room, and NW leads to the Misty Cavern on the way to the Oriental Room.
Anteroom
Map 3. Reached by going Down from the Bed Quilt or East from the Complex Junction. West goes to Bed Quilt, East leads to Witts End.

Awkward Sloping E/W Canyon
Map 1. West of the Debris Room and East of the Bird Chamber.


Bear Cave
Map 5. East to the Barren Room, Up through the Limestone Passage, and North to the the Fork; then West through the Long EW Corridor to the Chasm. Contains, naturally enough, a Bear, with a Golden Chain around its neck.
Bed Quilt
Map 3. 'A long complex E/W Passage, with many randomly varying entrances and exits.' Pressing the following keys repeatedly gets one to :
n - Junction of Three Canyons OR Large Low Room;
s - Slab Room OR western end of Two Pit Room;
e - Complex Junction;
w - Swiss Cheese Room;
u - Dusty Rocks Room;
d - Anteroom.
The Bed Quilt can be reached by going North from the Slab Room, West from the Anteroom, or NE from the Swiss Cheese Room.
Bird Chamber
Map 1.West of the Awkward Sloping E/W Canyon, and leads West to the top of a Small Pit. As one would expect there is a Bird here.
The Maze of Twisty Little Passages, All Alike leads to the Bird Chamber but cannot be entered from here.
Building
Map 1. Found at the beginning and the end of the game. Initially contains Food, Keys, Lamp, and Water.
Saying the Magic Word Plugh when in the Building takes one to the Y2 Room, and vice versa.
Saying the Magic Word XYZZY when in the Building takes one to the Debris Room, and vice versa.
Go West to the Road End.

Chamber of Boulders
Map 5. East leads to the Chasm past the Warm Walls Junction, the Long E/W Corridor, and the Fork. Contains Spices.
Chasm
Map 5. The S/W side is reached by going Up the Sloping Corridor from the Large Low Room. The N/E side is reached by a Bridge guarded by the Troll, and leads eventually, NE past the Fork to the Chamber of Boulders containing the Spices and SE to the Bear Cave containing the Golden Chain.
Clean Pit
Map 3. East and Down from Dirty Broken Passage. The Water of the stream is potable.
Cobble Crawl
Map 1. AKA Low Passage. Entered from the Small Chamber from the East, and leads to the Debris Room to the West. Contains a wicker Cage.
Complex Junction
Map 3. Down from Dusty Rocks Room.
North goes to the Shell Room.
East goes to the Anteroom.
West goes to the Bedquilt.
Crossover of High N/S Passage and Low E/W Passage
Map 2. Reached by going North or Down through the Two Foot Hole from the eastern end of the Very Long Hall.
North is a Dead End.
South leads to the western end of the Very Long Hall.
East leads to the West Side Chamber, and thus forms a connection between the Hall of Mists complex and the Hall of the Mountain King complex.
West leads to eastern end of the Very Long Hall.


Dark Room
Map 4. NE from the Plover Room but South to get back. Can only be entered safely if one has the Lamp. Contains the Pyramid.
Debris Room
Map 1. West of the Cobble Crawl and East of the Awkward Sloping E/W Canyon. Contains the Black Rod, and the magic word XYZZY on a note. Saying this word when in this room takes one to the Building, and vice versa.
Dirty Broken Passage
Map 3. Down from the Low N/S Passage.
East and then Down to the Water in the Clean Pit, or West to Dusty Rocks Room
Dragon Room.
Map 3. West from the Secret Canyon. Contains a Green Dragon and a Persian Rug..
The Secret N/S Canyon leads North into the Mirror Canyon.
Dusty Rocks Room
Map 3. West from Dirty Broken Passage.
Down to Complex Junction
Can be reached by going Up from the Bedquilt, but one cannot get there from here.

Fissure
Map 2. Divides the Hall of Mists into two parts. It is too wide to jump, but when one waves the Rod a Crystal Bridge appears.
Fork
Map 5. NE and E of the Chasm through the Long E/W Corridor. The Chamber of Boulders lies NE and and E, and the Bear Cave lies SE and E.


Giant Room
Map 4. Found by going West Up the Long Narrow Corridor after climbing the Plant. Contains a nest of Golden Eggs. Has the words Fee Fie Foe Foo inscribed on the walls. The Long Narrow Corridor continues North to the Massive, Rusty, Iron Door.
Grate
Map 1. Found South of the Building via the road through the Valley and the Slit in the Stream Bed. Opened by the Keys. The Small Chamber is below the Grate.

Hall of Mists
Map 2. Reached by going Down the stairs in the Small Pit. A Fissure divides it into two parts.
In the eastern part Down leads to the Hall of the Mountain King, and South leads to the Low Room (AKA Gold Room).
In the western part there are Diamonds. A Low Wide Crawl leads West to the eastern end of the Very Long Hall.
Another Low Wide Crawl leads North and then back to the West side of the Fissure.
A Little Passage leads South into the Maze of Twisty Little Passages, All Alike.
The Hall of Mists can be reached from the Y2 Room via the Jumble of Rocks, but one cannot get back that way.
Hall of the Mountain King
Map 2. Reached by going Down from the eastern end (entrance) of the Hall of Mists.
There is a Green Snake at the entrance which must be driven away by the Bird.
North goes to a Low N/S Passage in which there is Silver.
South goes to the South Side Chamber in which there is Jewelry.
West goes to the West Side Chamber in which there are Coins, and which leads to the Crossover.
Up (or East) goes back to the Hall of Mists.
SW goes to a Secret Canyon though one must go East to get back.
Huge Pit
Not shown on maps. Has Window Rooms on either side. Continues below to make the Mirror Canyon.

Immense Room
Not shown on maps. AKA Repository. One is transported there in a puff of smoke at the end of the game after the voice has announced that the cave is closed.
Contains Rods which are dynamite sticks.



Jumble of Rocks
Map 2. East from the Y2 Room. Leads Up to the Hall of Mists; one way.
Junction of Three Canyons.
Not shown on maps. One of the northern exits from the Bedquilt.
North leads to the West Window Room, a dead end, though one must go West to get back.
South leads to the Secret N/S Canyon above a Sizable Passage.
SE leads back to the Bedquilt


Large Low Room.
Map 4. One of the northern exits of the Bedquilt. Can also be reached by going Down the Steep Incline from the Waterfall Cavern. North is a Dead End Crawl.
SE leads to the Oriental Room.
SW leads to a Sloping Corridor (AKA Long Winding Passage) Up to the Chasm.
Long Narrow Corridor
Map 4. Reached by climbing the Plant which has been turned into a Beanstalk.
West leads to a Giant Room containing a nest of golden Eggs. The only other exit is Down the Plant.
Low Room
Map 2. AKA Gold Room. South from the Hall of Mists. Contains a Large Nugget of Gold.
Low N/S Passage
Map 2. North from the Hall of the Mountain King. Contains Silver.
North leads to the Y2 Room.
Down leads to the Dirty Broken Passage
Low Wide Crawl
Map 2. AKA Crawl Way. Leads West from the Hall of Mists to the Very Long Hall.

Maze of Twisty Little Passages, All Alike
Map 2. Runs South from the West end of the Hall of Mists to the Bird Chamber.
The directions are e,s,s,s,n,e,n,e,nw. This will bring one to a Dead End which contains the Pirate's Chest if the Pirate has appeared earlier in the game. From the chest se,n,d leads to the Bird Chamber. Partway through the maze is a Thirty Foot Pit which leads directly to the Bird Chamber.
Maze of Twisty Little Passages, All Different
Map 2. Entered from the South end of the Narrow N/S Passage Contains a Vending Machine.
Misty Cavern
Map 4. North of the Oriental Room. West leads to the Alcove.
Mirror Canyon
Map 3. Part of the Secret N/S Canyon between the Dragon Room and the Reservoir.
Forms the lower part of the Huge Pit.

Narrow N/S Passage
Not shown on maps. Forms the western boundary of the Very Long Hall. North crosses over an E/W Passage to a dead end. South leads to the Maze of Twisty Little Passages, All Different.

Oriental Room
Map 4. NW from the Swiss Cheese Room. Contains a Vase. The Large Low Room lies West and the Misty Cavern is North.

Plover Room
Map 4. Reached by going East through a very tight tunnel from the Alcove. The tunnel is so tight that you cannot take anything into the room, but you can take the Emerald back through the tunnel.
A Dark Room lies to the NE.
Saying Magic Word Plover while in this room transports one and all ones inventory except the Emerald to the Y2 Room, and vice versa.


Reservoir
Map 3. Found at the northern end of the Secret N/S Canyon. Contains (as one would expect) Water.
Road End
Map 1. This is where the game starts. The Building lies to the East, and the Grate lies to the South through the Valley and the Slit in the Stream Bed.

Secret Canyon
Map 2. AKA E/W Canyon. Reached by going SW from the Hall of the Mountain King, though one must go East to get back.
The canyon leads West to the Dragon Room, in which there is a Green Dragon and a Persian Rug.
It runs over a Wide Place in the Very Tight Canyon. Once Down one cannot get back up.
Secret N/S Canyon above Sizable Passage
Not shown on maps. Lies South of the Junction of Three Canyons. South leads to the top of a stalactite which in turn leads to the Maze of Twisty Little Passages, All Alike. Down leads to the Bed Quilt
Secret N/S Canyon above Sizable Room
Map 3. Entered by going North from the Dragon Room or Up from the Slab Room.
It runs North through the Mirror Canyon to the Reservoir.
Shell Room
Map 3. North of the Complex Junction. Contains a tightly closed Clam which contains a Pearl.
Down leads to a Long Sloping Corridor with ragged walls, which goes on to a Cul-de-sac. Up leads to an Arched Hall, a dead end.
Slab Room
Map 3. Found below the Secret N/S Canyon between the Dragon Room and the Mirror Canyon.
North goes to the Bedquilt.
South goes to the western end of the Two Pit Room.
Sloping Corridor
Map 5. AKA Long Winding Passage. Reached by going SW from the Large Low Room and leads Up to the Chasm.
Reached by going SW from the Chasm and leads Down to the Large Low Room
Small Chamber
Map 1. Below the Grate. Leads West to a Cobble Crawl.
Small Pit
Map 1. The top of the Small Pit is reached from the Bird Chamber on the East, and has stairs leading Down to the Hall of Mists. Saying Grate gets one back to the Grate, though there is no indication of this in the game.
Soft Room
Map 4. Reached by going East from the Swiss Cheese Room. Contains a Pillow.
South Side Chamber
Map 2. South of the Hall of the Mountain King. Contains Jewelry.
Steep Incline
Map 4. West ofthe Waterfall Cavern, and Down to the Large Low Room. The incline is too steep to cimb back.
Swiss Cheese Room
Map 4. One can get to the rooms listed below by entering the direction repeatedly.
South leads to the Tall E/W Canyon.
East leads to the the Soft Room which contains the Pillow.
West leads to the eastern end of the Two Pit Room.
NE leads to the Bedquilt Room.
NW leads to the Oriental Room.

Tall E/W Canyon
Not shown on maps. Reached by going North from the Wide Place in a Very Tight Canyon or by pressing S repeatedly from the Swiss Cheese Room.
West is a dead end Mass of Boulders.
Two Pit Room.
Map 3. Reached by going South from the Slab Room, though one must go West to get back.
The eastern end can be reached by going West from the Swiss Cheese Room.
The western end can be reached by repeatedly going South from the Bedquilt.
The western pit contains a Plant which asks for Water and becomes a Beanstalk.
The eastern pit contains Oil.


Very Long Hall
Map 2. Lies to the West of the west end of the Hall of Mists via the Low Wide Crawl, and has the Narrow N/S Passage as its western end.
At its eastern end a Two Foot Hole leads North or Down to the Crossover of a High N/S Passage and a Low E/W Passage.
Very Tight Canyon
Not shown on maps. A Wide Place in this canyon is reeached by coming Down from a Secret Canyon SW from the Hall of the Mountain King. Once down one cannot get back up to the Secret Canyon.
North is the Tall E/W Canyon (East to get Back) which goes North to the Swiss Cheese Room. There is no southern exit.

Waterfall Cavern
Map 4. North of the Iron Door, and East of the Steep Incline. Contains the Trident.
West Side Chamber
Map 2. West of the Hall of the Mountain King. Contains Coins. A passage continues Up and to the West to the Crossover of a High N/S Passage and a Low E/W Passage.
Window Rooms
Not shown on maps. The descriptions of both rooms are identical in the game I played. They overlook the Huge Pit and face each other on either side of a mirror so that you can see yourself as a Shadowy Figure.
The East Room is West of the Y2 Room, and the West Room is North of the Junction of Three Canyons. Both are dead ends.
Witt's End
Map 3. East of the Anteroom. Once in the only way to get out is to press n repeatedly! Do NOT go West. Drop the Spelunker Magazine here for the elusive last point.

Y2 Room
Map 2. North of the Low N/S Passage. A voice says the Magic Word Plugh, which takes one to the Building and vice versa.
The Magic Word Plover takes one and one's inventory to the Plover Room and back.
East leads to the Jumble of Rocks and from there Up to the Hall of Mists.
West leads to the East Window Room overlooking a Huge Pit.
