Objects and Creatures in Zork 2
Brass Lantern
AKA Lamp. Like the one in Zork 1 is battery powered and may run out.
Brick
An explosive. Found in the Marble Hall. Used with the String to blow open the Box in the Dusty Room to get the
Crown.
Bucket
Found initially in the Circular Room. You must enter it, and then Pour Water from the
Teapot. Then the Bucket will ascend to the
Top of Well. Similarly, to go down Enter the Bucket and Fill the Teapot with Water. Then the Bucket will descend to the Circular Room.
Cage
Located in the Dingy Closet to protect the Red Crystal Sphere. Can only be lifted by the Robot.
Cakes
Found in the Tea Room. The Blue Cake will make you expand, the Green Cake will make you shrink so you can get into the Pool Room, the Orange Cake will make you explode if you eat it, and the Red Cake will kill you from dehydation if you eat it. Better to use it to dry up the Pool.
Candy
Found in the Pool Room after the Pool has been dried up by the Red Cake. Used to put the
Lizard Head to sleep so you can get into the
Wizard's Workshop.
Cerberus
The three headed giant dog of Greek mythology. Found, as one would expect, in the Cerberus Room. Tamed by putting his Collaron him
Chest
Found in the Dragon's Lair, and contains the Statuette. The Chest needs two tries to Open it. The first try will rouse the Princess from her trance, and she will then lead you to the
Unicorn. But if you then Open the Chest again she will get too far ahead of you, so leave the Chest until another time.
Club
Actually a baseball bat. Found in the Oddly Angled Room. Used in the Aquarium Room to hit the Aquarium so that you can get the
Clear Sphere.
Collar
Found in the Kennel. Used to tame
Cerberus so you can get past him to the
Anteroom.
Crown
One of the Treasures. Found in the
Dusty Room inside a Box. The Box must be blown open using the Brick, the
Matchbook, and the String.
Crystal Spheres
Get the Blue one from the Dreary Room. Get the Clear Crystal Sphere from the Aquarium in the
Aquarium Room. Get the Red one from the Dingy Closet.
Put these three on their stands in the
Wizard's Workroom to get the Black Sphere. Put the Black Sphere in the Circle in the
Pentagram Room to conjure up the
Demon.

Demon
Found in the Pentagram Room after you have conjured him up with the Black Crystal Sphere. Then you must bribe him with ALL the
Treasures, and tell him to give the
Wand to you.
Dragon
Found initially in the Dragon Room, barring the way North to the Dragons Lair. You cannot kill him, but you can entice him to kill himself. Do it right though, or he will literally flame you.
Gold Key
One of the Treasures. Found on a ribbon around the neck of the Unicorn in the
North End of Garden. Can only be taken by the Princess. Used to open the door in the
Guarded Room.
Green Paper
Found in the Low Room, and is the manual for the Robot.
Grue
Found in all dark places, and will get you next move if you do not have a source of light.
Grue Repellant
Found in Room 8. So far I don't see the point of it, since if you turn the light off you would not be able to see where you are going.
Hot Air Ballon
Found initially at the Volcano Bottom. Fueled by the Newspaper which is lit by the Matchbook.
Letter Opener
Found on a table in the Gazebo. Used to open the Oaken Door in the Tiny Room.
Lizard Head
Found in the Guarded Room on the door to the Wizard's Workshop. It will go to sleep after you give it the Candy.

Matchbook
Found on a table in the Gazebo. Used with the Newspaper to fuel the Hot Air Balloon, and with the String and the
Brick to blow up the Box in the
Dusty Room to get the
Crown.
Newpaper
Found on a table in the Gazebo. Lit by the Matches to fuel the Hot Air Balloon.
Pearl Necklace
One of the Treasures. Found in the
Pearl Room.
Place Mat
Found on a table in the Gazebo. Used to open the Oaken Door in the Tiny Room.
Portrait
One of the Treasures. Found in the
Chairman's Office.
Princess
Found in the Dragon's Lair. Initially in a trance, which is broken when you try to open the
Chest. Then you follow her to the
Gazebo, and wait until she takes the
Gold Key from the Unicorn and gives it to you.
Robot
Found initially in the Low Room, but will go wherever you tell it to. The Green Paper is the manual for the Robot. Used to Press the Triangular Button in the Machine Room, and to Lift the Cage in the
Dreary Room.
Ruby
One of the Treasures. Found in the
Lava Room after the
Dragon has melted the Ice barrier between this room and the Ice Room.

Spells
The Wizard appears randomly throughout the game and casts them, or tries to. They all begin with F :Fantasize, Fear, Fence, Fierce, Filch, Fireproof, Float, Freeze, Fumble. So far as I can tell so far they wear off in time.
Stamp
One of the Treasures. Found inside the Purple Book in the Library
Statuette
One of the Treasures. Found in the
Chest in the
Dragon's Lair.
String
Found in the Cobwebby Corridor. Used with the Brick to blow open the Box in the
Dusty Room to get the
Crown.
Sword
Like the one in Zork 1 will glow with a blue light when danger is near.
Teapot
Found on a table in the Gazebo. Needs to be filled with water at the Shallow Ford so that you can Pour Water from it into the Bucket to make it ascend or Fill it with Water to make the Bucket descend.
Treasures
First collect them all, then bribe the Demon with them. They include :
Crown,
Gold Key,
Portrait ,
Pearl Necklace,
Ruby,
Stamp,
Statuette,
Zorkmid Bills, and
Zorkmid Coin
Triangular Button
Found in the Machine Room, and stops the Carousel from revolving. If you presss it yourself you will be electrocuted, so tell the
Robot to press it.
Unicorn
Found in the North End of Garden, and has a Gold Key on a ribbon around its neck.
Even if you are a virgin you cannot catch it by yourself, but the
Princess can.
Wand
Used by the Wizard in various parts of the game to cast his Spells on you. You must tell the
Demon to give it to you, Get it, and use it to make the Menhir in the Menhir Room float so you can get access to the Kennel.
Wizard
He pops up randomly through out the game, and most times casts a
Spell - or tries to.
Zorkmid Bills
One of the Treasures. Found in the
Vault.
Zorkmid Coin
One of the Treasures. Found on the
Narrow Ledge.
