1.Murderer!

When PCs enter a small town they realize that everyone has a paranoid look on their face. After a short time they find out that there is a murderer on the loose in the town. Four bodies have appeared in the last month all at random locations. There is a posting in the local tavern/inn that reads,"Catch a killer, make 50 gold crowns". The note is signed "Roland 'the Ettercap'Lowas, Mayor". The mayor is rightfully named 'the ettercap( not because he is one)because he is good at catching criminals. But the killer who is presently at large happens to be excedingly sneeky, so he needs help at the price of 50 gold.

The killer is a man who was let off for the crime earlier do to lack of evidence. The killer has one friend who is presently in the city jail on death row. In one week he will be hanged to death, taking his incriminating words to his grave. So the PCs have to somehow convince him to give up the info to once and for all convict his friend, the killer.

The information that the convict has is about where the other killers secret hideout is, with much evidence(bloody knives, victims clothing, etc). In order for the convict to divulge his information he wants to experience outside one last time, but he is not allowed out under any cicumstances. So the group has to find a way to let him experience freedom without leaving his cell.

2.Wedding Bells

One of the PCs recieve an invitation to attend a childhood friends wedding in a big city(ie. Waterdeep). The trip could be an adventure in itself. When they finally make it to the city they stumble upon a public execution. There are a group of thugs being hanged in the market square for all to see. Just before they get strung up a group of black hooded riders come and free one of the thugs. That thug frees one of the others and they are off through the streets. The captain of the gaurd is on the scene immediately with a few soldiers, but they riders and thugs are gone.

The riders are a newly formed group of bad guys. Their main purpose is to kill the lord/king of the city. His fiance is in with the bad guys. They plan to take over the city and land after they wipe the king out. Their planned assassination in on the wedding night. She is to take off the kings sword which he never removes(even during lovemakin) and an assassin will take him out while he and the queen are moving into the bedchamber.

The jobs of the PCs, which is quite a hard one, is to stop the assassination from happening. How they find out is hard enough, let alone stopping it.

3.Temple of Doom

Since the Time of troubles Helm(the god of guardians) hasn't enjoyed the following he once did. One particular temple devoted to Helm has long since been abandoned. For a few years it sat. A wandering spirit found the abandoned temple a perfect place to stay. It was positioned in the hills above a small village. Since then the village has been sporadicly haunted by the spirit. When chased the spirit flees back to the abandoned temple for refuge. It has set up various traps in the temple, just in the instace that someone tries to invade its new home.

The job of the PCs, either hired or volutary, is to rid the temple of the spirit so it has no place to hide. A haunting while the PCs are in the town would be the best way to encourage the group to want to get rid of the spirit. A priest of Helm can offer his help to the group in exchange for the rights to the temple after it is exterminated. I the group succeeds the priest preforms a ritual to reclaim the temple for the glory of helm.
