The Knights of the Shield

o the people of the Sword Coast, the Knights of the Shield are one of the most secretive groups in all of Faerun. Their activities, power, and aims are virually unknown to anyone, and their activities are shroued in speculation. All of their work is done in secrecy, and most of their members remain unknown. They use their guile for quick attacks and assassinations.

No one knows how the Knights came in to being, or who is their leader. Although their are many rumors as to who he could be. One is that the Knights are lead by a Tanar'ri from the lower planes named Charsultketh. Another rumor points to the south, saying that they are lead by a group of Genies from Zakhara.

The only known truth about the group is that its members are from various occupations and various levels of society. They reach from as far south as Tethyr and and Amn, to Baldur's Gate and even Waterdeep.

The main goal of the Knights is to control the politics and money along the Sword coast, while their secondary goal is to get one or more of their members to sit as a Lord of Waterdeep. In the past there was one attempt noted by the people of Waterdeep. But the Knight, Lady Thione, was found out by Danilo Than (a true Lord)and exiled from the city. What has become of her is unknown, but she is presumed slain.
