Chapter 3
Melly sat at camp staring out at the lake when her friend Kimmy came running up behind her.
Kimmy: "Oh my gosh Melly look at this!"
Melly: (glancing at the magazine Kimmy was holding) "Its Bop Kimmy...(sarcastic tone) Im not a Big Bopper."
Kimmy: "But Melly look at these hot guys! Theyre in some new music group called the Backstreet Boys!"
Melly: "Back..Street Boys? Oh yay Kimmy. Sounds nice."
Kimmy: "But look how cute they are!"(holding a pinup of them up to Melly's face as she got up and tried to walk off.)
Melly: (looking at the picture) "Ok they arent too bad." (continued to stare at the picture.)
Kimmy: "What is it?"
Melly: "He looks familiar." (pointing at the blond one)
Kimmy:"He kinda looks like that Mike guy from school.."
Melly: *shrugs* "I guess thats it."
Melly's Mom walks over to the girls
Melly's Mom: "Melissa, phone call for you."
Melly: "Ok Mom."
Melly's Mom: "Well Hurry its a collect call!"
Melly:"Collect? Who's calling me collect??" (looks at Kimmy in confusion and gets up to go inside to answer the phone. Kimmy follows her.)
Melly: "Hello?"
Justin:"Melly? This is Justin."
Melly:"Justin?...Oh umm hey whats up?"
Kimmy:(whispering) "Who is Justin?!?!"
Justin: "Whats up? Thats an understatement..Melly weve got trouble."
Melly:"Uh huh..(going in another room) Ok so whats going on?"
Justin:"Somebody knows about what happend."
Melly: "Who?"
Justin:"I dont know! But I just wanted to check and see if anything unusual had been happening with you."
Melly:"No more than usual...So what have you been up to? Do you still talk to Britney?"
Justin: "Yeah me and Britney got signed to a record label. Im in a group with some other guys."
Melly:"Wow thats great."
Justin:"Yeah we're supposed to start touring in a few weeks, Britney, my group Nsync, and another group called the Backstreet Boys"
Melly: "Oh yeah Ive heard of them..Hey do you know the Blond guy because he looks awfully familiar to me?"
Justin: "I dunno, I havent met them yet. We're supposed to have a big party tonight at our manager's house so that we can meet everyone."
Melly:"Oh well then tell me if you know who it is, because its driving me nuts!"
Justin explains what happened to him earlier in the venue to Melly. They talk for a while longer and agree to stay in touch if either one finds out anything. Melly hangs up the phone and walks back outside where Kimmy is at.
Kimmy: "Hey mail call." (handing Melly a letter as she started back in the main office of the camp)
Melly:"Thanks." (opens the letter without realizing that it didnt even have a return address.) "Oh my GOD!" (starts screaming)
The note read...

Hollywood, CA on the set of a movie...
Director: "Cut! Freddie that was better, lets take a break folks..be back in 10."
Freddie:"Ok." (cell phone rings) "Hello?"
Melly:"FREDDIE! Are you ok?!?!?! Youre not dead??"
Freddie:"Ummm..no Who is this?"
Melly:"Freddie its Melly. Are you ok?"
Freddie:(going to his dressing room) "Melly. Hey, yeah Im fine. Whats wrong?"
Melly:"Somebody knows."
Freddie:"About what?"
Melly:"About what happend last summer.Justin just called me and he's been getting threats and I just got a letter and..."
Freddie:"Whoa Melly calm down. Now tell me everything that happened."
