Idea submitted by Ross Davidson. Ten second lap trick? As Toad's Turnpike provides an easy mechanism to call Lakitu (ie. just jump into a fence), it makes sense that a 10-second lap trick exists in some form on this track. Three possibilities are:
- At the starting line, turn around and powerslide into (or over) the rail on your left. If Lakitu picks you up, he may place you just before the finish line, crediting you with a lap.
- At the starting line, instead of turning around, just glitch into the wall to your left and then perform the confirmed trick above . Maybe if you start your jump in front of the finish line, but land in the water far enough behind the finish line (like the 10-second lap trick on Yoshi Valley ), Lakitu will place you down on the finish line, thus incrementing your lap counter.
- At the starting line, turn around and aim your kart at the left edge of the wall in front of you. Like on DK's Jungle Parkway, you may be able to glitch through the wall texture and land in the water behind it, thereby giving you credit for most of a lap. Getting through this wall is difficult but doable.
Note: I have accomplished all of the above ideas without any success in incrementing the lap counter, but this doesn't mean that the trick cannot be done. For most of the tricks in Mario Kart, your approach angle makes all the difference, so trying out different angles may be the key to success. E-mail me if you manage to get this trick to work (in any of its forms).
