NEW COMIC BOOK COMING TO TELEVISION

A new television series based on a comic book may be coming your way soon.
I have enjoyed so many comic books and comic book movies and series that I
am naturally disposed to giving them a chance. However, I am not the norm.

Maybe no one else will be excited by a TV series based on a comic book. In
fact, there may be a prejudice against such television series. (I know that's
not news to many of you.) Do comic books have any chance of getting respect
in the entertainment community? The X-Men Movie is reviewed as average in
the Entertainment Weekly magazine. Is that a fair assessment?

At this point I think people figure a film or program will do more poorly and
receive bad reviews if anyone knows it is based on a comic book. Therefore,
hidden in the On the Air
section of a recent issue of Entertainment Weekly
is the news that Jim Lee's comic book "Ball and Chain" is in development as a
new drama series for the FOX Television Network. However, there is no mention
of the fact the the series is based on a comic book or that Jim Lee is involved
in any way. But that is okay. I may be the only person in the US who actually
read the series. Still, I enjoyed the series and, if it is handled well, it
should be very good. I just hope they dump the bouncing head. I never have
enjoyed bouncing heads.
