The casino has weekly tournaments. Every Friday at 8:00 p.m. there is a slot or a video poker tournaments with over $500 cash and prizes. Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino invites the public to its St. Patrick’s Weekend Party on Friday & Saturday March 16-17, 2001.

The party kicks-off with its two-day $13,000 Seven-Card Stud Poker Championship starting on March 16, 2001. For a $300 entry fee which includes hotel accommodation for two nights any poker player can grab the chance to win the pot o’ gold worth $10,000.

Also on the following day March 17, 2001 see who will win the $10,000 for the Poker Championship. The Luck O’ Irish Party will follow at 9:00 p.m. Join and have fun together with the luckiest among the lucky lads and lasses at the buffet and open cocktail bar with unlimited cold green beer at the main Casino floor. To continue with the party atmosphere that evening, Tinian Dynasty together with Budweiser is hosting the Larry Franquez Jazz Ensemble from Guam performing live at the Jackpot Lounge. This is a high-energy professional band that plays favorite jazz ballads, swing, up-tempo, blues, Latin songs and numbers to for audiences listening and dancing pleasure.

Mr. Larry Franquez has consistently earned prestigious awards in New York, Boston, New Orleans, San Diego, and Toronto. He is a successful music performer and a music educator as well. He has recorded on several CD demos and played drums on the soundtrack for the ‘Skirty Winner’ under an independent film label. Also, he is the first Band Director in Guam history to enter the John F. Kennedy High School Jazz Band into national and international band competitions. Beauty Pageant Queens on Tinian

The six contestants of the 2001 Ms. Northern Marianas Universe Pageant will be on Tinian Saturday March 24, 2001 for a day of filming.

The event is being hosted by Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino, who will be providing their grounds for photo shoots.

“The contestants will be very busy on Tinian!” exclaimed Gerard B. Salas. According to the press release, the contestants will be taking part in promoting the Arts Council’s Annual Art Festival, participating in an evening gown fashion show in the hotel lobby, and meeting two former Miss Hong Kong’s, Pauline Yeung (Miss Hong Kong 1987, Miss International Goodwill 1987, Miss World-Queen of Asia 1987 and Miss Universe 4th Runner Up 1988) and Ms. Jessie Chiu (Miss Hong Kong First Runner Up 1989). Jacqueline W.K. Law, a popular actress from Hong Kong, will also accompany the group. The former two also had movie roles.

“This will be a thrilling experience and an excellent opportunity for publicity for the candidates,” said Alfred Yue, Casino Manager of Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino. “I am glad of the opportunity to support the NMBPA, and our two contestants from Tinian “Tinian is a beautiful place-we look forward to having next year’s pageant here,” he said.

The six contestants are Janet King and Eva Dela Cruz-from Tinian, Cathy Chargualaf and Sierra Cody-from Saipan, and Rowena Ogo and Joleen Ramos-from Rota.

Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino in tandem with the Dynasty Social Club is hosting a friendly basketball match in Tinian this weekend -- March 24 to 25, 2001 at the Tinian Gymnasium.

At 7:00 p.m. this Saturday, March 24th, the Dynasty All-Star Basketball Team B would be playing against the basketball team of Cirkulo Boholano. Cirkulo Boholano is a Saipan-based organization of all Boholanos in the CNMI or Filipinos who hail from the Island Province of Bohol in the Philippines.

Meanwhile the game at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 25th, is believed to be a tight basketball action between the Dynasty All-Star Basketball Team A and the basketball team of Hyatt Regency Saipan.

Hoops Weekend is initiated by the Dynasty Social Club as part of its sports program for the employees of Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino. “Besides our InterDepartmental Basketball League which would commence this April 1st, we organized these friendly matches against outside basketball teams to promote camaraderie between Tinian Dynasty and the local community in the form of healthy sports competitions, ” remarks Danny Tso, Rooms Director of Tinian Dynasty and TDHC Basketball Committee Head. The games on Saturday and Sunday are open to the public.

Tinian Dynasty Beats Hyatt Saipan

Dynasty All- Star Basketball Team “A” controlled the board with an 89-52 victory score against Hyatt Regency Saipan last Sunday, March 25, 2001 at the Tinian Gymnasium.

Coach Alex Villanueva said his team played a stellar offense and defense. The team had a good head start scoring 56-21 during the first half. Hot shooter Elmer Esdrelon swished 28 points in the friendly basketball match last Sunday leading the Dynasty cagers to victory.

Dynasty All-Star Basketball Team “A” is Ramon Apostol, Roan Awa, Jerry Bolias, Elmer Esdrelon, Arnold Divinagracia, Rio Galla, Allan Jacalne, Eddie Labador, Romel Macagba, Michael Meehan, Ambet Omampo, Gilbert Yumul and Richmond Trinidad.

The game was initiated by Dynasty Social Club (DSC) to promote camaraderie between Tinian Dynasty and the local community through healthy sports competitions. “We have received basketball invitations from various teams in Saipan and are looking forward to these matches,” said Biresh Limbu, DSC President.
