bg_8.gif (810 bytes) Hello there!

This is my homepage on Petaling Jaya, for those of you who do not know what Petaling Jaya is... It is actually a satellite city, intended to allow more growth around the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.

Surprisingly it is also where I live and this is where I grew up. My younger days were a lot quieter, there are now a lot of construction happening around my used-to-be quiet neighbourhood in Damansara Utama.

I like the quieter days yes, when you didn't really have to look both ways to cross the road. Now, that is a definite no-no to not look before you walk. One might just meet an untimely accident! I met one, and it left me with half a face, good thing the surgeons at the hospital did a fine job at stitching me up again. Just at the back of my house, there is now a 4 lane dual carriage way highway. However, I am lucky, just at the front of my house, I have a field. Many great times were spent there in the field. More later about my childhood hehe!

When I was younger, Malaysia when was still in its stages of development, there was a lot to be caught up on, our economic situation was not too bad, but we could do better, our current Prime Minister, Dr. Mahathir was just elected into the government and this chap had a dream, to make Malaysia a renowned name in the world. I think 20 years later on, we indeed have achieved that dream.

Malaysia is known all around the world for a couple of things, namely:

  • Great food! Being so far away from home you don't know how much this really means to me, food!
  • Friendly people. Yup Malaysians are a shy bunch, but if you can break the ice, you will find that we are a friendly lot! We can talk just about anything while we may not agree on certain things, but still we can talk it out.
  • Tourist spots! Sandy white beaches, unspoilt forests, shopping centres. You name it we got it, we have a very large Natianal Forest in Pahang, no one is allowed to chop down trees there!
  • The weather! The weather in Malaysia is quite cool I must say, it leaves you hot and grimey all the time hehe! So there is no bother to wipe, you just sweat it out.
